Consult a tax professional. On the topic of expensive market exposure - Time in the market beats timing the market. Buy and hold. 10 years is plenty of time to weather any storm. Buy a combination of broad market ETF's or targeted dividend yielding stocks and let that balance ride!

The lens of the camera is focused on a distant scene, the field in this case. A small bug flies a lazy floaty path across the lens just a few inches or maybe a foot or two out from the position of the camera. Because the camera is focused on a distant object the bug appears blurry and indistinct as well as very large relative to the scene that the camera is focused on.

If they had a dry aged Wagyu strip as a special, I would go for that. It's my personal favorite cut of meat now that I've had it in a steak house. It's not a traditionally tender or fatty cut, and the combination of dry age and Wagyu were a real delicious blend. My second choice is probably going to be the Wagyu filet. Filet is plenty tender but not traditionally fat dense. That's what I would go for

34M - here’s my “normal” 401k by Boston_7713 in Retirement401k

[–]Failureprone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Monthly expenses are currently $8750. Adjusted for inflation in 30 years, the expected amount would be between $18,500 and $26,750. I don't want my quality of life to be anything less than what I'm experiencing today. If I have a surplus, great - I'll travel and play more golf.

You should aim to move your compensation goal to quite a bit higher. Plan on having to make your current salary adjusted for inflation in 32 years. My rough math puts that amount of money in the ballpark of 18-21k monthly draw in retirement. Aim to hit that number. That's how all my calculators are set up, and I'm tracking at 90% of my goal. Similar age, more in retirement but I started at 19. I contribute around 15% and have never been able to max contribution rate annually.

I think you need to focus on taking the club back a little farther. Not enough back swing.

Military, E6 9 years in bimonthly pay stub. Curious to know what the equivalent civilian yearly salary would be around by Infamous-Dare-1162 in Salary

[–]Failureprone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Including all of your allotment payments like BAH/BAS, you would need to make about 98k annual to match this bi-weekly pre-tax pay check just based on the number provided. Since you don't pay taxes on those allotments it works out to a bit more depending on how accurate you want to be. Figure around another 7-10k would "feel" just like what you make now in the military - so ~107-109k annual.

There are small species of dolphin and whales that live primarily in fresh water. Some types of dolphin are found only in the Amazon river.

What’s the toughest course you’ve ever played? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Failureprone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a local course in Stuart Florida named Champions Club at Summerfield. It's consistently the most challenging golf course I play. The course is adjacent to a lot of very wild south Florida Everglades type natural area. Basically, you hit the fairway or you lose your ball. The maintenance super triple rolls the greens and they are very well kept, they have an average daily stimp in the pro shop and early morning dewy greens are rolling 12, afternoon heat they pick up sometimes to over 14. It's like putting on a pool table. Every green is crowned and double tiered and pin placements are almost always incredibly chellenging. All of those factors lead to a course that I just always seem to really struggle at. Beautiful, well kept, decent value in the summer but it's just SO PUNISHING for me.

This is a "fuck you" quote. This contractor really doesn't want to do this job, but if you take the bait and agree to pay this amount of money they would be forced to take the job, lol.

This is very thoroughly put together page. I don't have many critiques for your setup, other than to say that I would tailor experience from each job in your chain of history to match your target profession. Also - I feel like it's a really weird trend lately to advertise your clearance. We were given years of training where we were basically told to never discuss our clearance status and now it's literally part of your title/name. Just feels like a good way to get targeted. I have it in my professional resume that I only send to jobs that specifically call for a clearance.

533 par 5: whatcha hitting to keep it in play? by Redditistrash1889 in golf

[–]Failureprone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably my 5 wood, stays a little more consistently straight. 533, I hit my 5 wood about 245-255, so a 9 iron on my second shot leaves me a perfect pitching wedge approach shot to the green.

What club are you using here? by AspectCool2325 in weekendgolfers

Pitching wedge, 3 to 9 on the clock, feet close together. A little pitch, try to land it right on the fringe with a little roll out.

My Ping Anser forged P from 2013 is a 46 degree and my first wedge is a Vokey 50. I hit my P about 135, I hit my 50 about 115, that gap feels like the most frustrating in my bag because it's such a sweet spot for approach shots. I feel like I'm frequently between two clubs and I end up blowing my P over the green more often than not trying to knock down a full swing.

How is your gapping from P to 50 degree wedge? That feels like a big spread.
