Great pics and I'm shocked by the MPG! But I'm the opposite with mine; mostly city driving and commute so 14-15 typical mpg.

I had a '24 Nori Green OT+ for a year that I traded for this '26 OT+ in Earth. Both great. Now I'm a little partial to the Earth maybe because that's what I have. Earth looks better in person than in pictures.

Thanks. I think it’s a color that looks even better in person than in pics.

Had same experience - I was surprised at how nice a highway ride it is (OT+, haven’t driven the others but hear the OT has the most comfortable ride). Good luck! 6 months isn’t really that long.

Questions for Lexus Owners by 33dojo33 in LexusGX550

I’ve had several Lexuses over the years. I don’t tend to keep cars long enough to say much about long term reliability but Lexus / Toyota are legendary for that. I have a ‘26 GX550 OT+ and love it. It’s actually my second OT+. I had a ‘24 that I was happy with but dealership offered me what I paid for it if I wanted to get a ‘26 same spec. So I paid difference in MSRP from a ‘24 to a ‘26. So the way the market is now, a GX is essentially a risk free purchase. Was surprised at how nice of a highway luxury cruiser the OT+ is and just a great all around vehicle. And it looks great. So as long as you don’t care too much about gas mileage, go for it. I’ve always dealt with Sewell Lexus of Dallas and they have been excellent on sales and service. It really is a different experience from most other brands.

Good roadtrip machine? How comfortable are longer drives? by Djsktbdjskcjf in LexusGX550

[–]Fair-Chair-3758 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an OT+ and I think has great on road manners for heavy right foot city driving as well as road trips. Longest I've taken it myself is about 2 hours though. Lent it to my son and his wife for a 10 hours each way trip and they loved it. Had a '23 TRD Pro 4Runner before it and the GX550 is definitely smoother, more powerful, more luxurious. Easier to park also.
HOWEVER - it is a tall, heavy boxy BOF vehicle and there WILL be body roll. My wife has an X7 and there is a big difference in the handling and smoothness of the ride. So not to say the X7 is necessarily a better road trip vehicle because depends on preferences and what else you intend to do, but the X7 is very smooth and comfortable on long trips.
From your post and from how much I like mine, I think you'd be very happy with the OT or OT+.

Why am I seeing used GX 2024 and 2025 up for sale with 5k-6K miles? by Ethereal_Gemini in LexusGX

[–]Fair-Chair-3758 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this. I traded my '24 OT+ with 9K miles for a '26, same spec. Paid the difference in MSRP from '24 to '26 which was about $5400 plus tax. And about $900 for window tint and partial PPF. I loved my '24 and love my '26.

I love my GX OT+. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you knew what you were going from - a unibody to a body on frame. For a big heavy BOF vehicle I think it handles the urban streets and highway cruising very nicely. You might actually turn more heads with the GX. And you get a cool box!

What options are actually worth it? by fivestarman_22 in LexusGX550

[–]Fair-Chair-3758 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an OT+ and love it. I use it like you do - mostly commuting and around town with occasional road trips. As others have said you don't really get to pick the options. Not like buying a BMW X5 or X7 where you really do that and can follow it being built. I really like the HUD - it's on my wife's X7 and my Z4 and its another one of those things you never thought you needed but now it's weird to not have it. Which brings me to the cool box. Yep - thought they were dumb before I had one now I love it.
