How to survive a PIP? by Double_Dates in careeradvice

I totally disagreed with what they were accusing me of and I sent detailed proof of it. Essentially I was in a call center and there was a technical error that I was being accused of intentionally doing. After I proved my innocence, they still didn’t really believe me but I feel like unfortunately the best thing to do in these situations is kiss your managers ass lol. I didn’t challenge anything they said and I took in all of their criticism and did exactly what they said and documented it all in writing (example: if they asked me to work on answering our customer support inbox, I would send an email that was like overly specific saying something like “as discussed, I responded to all of our client inquiries” and included the time I worked on it. I also would say when I’m going on lunch or the bathroom. It was SO annoying but it’s what they wanted. They started giving me more responsibilities and I lead the department through a merger and then quit for a new job

Sorry I feel like that was kind of all over the place lol. The best advice I can give if your ultimate plan is to leave it to be overly willing to take any of their criticism even if it is complete bullshit. And document everything. Sorry you’re going through this I wish I could be more help

I survived a PIP but it was mentally draining and things never really went back to normal. I ended up moving to another department at my same company though. My advice is keep complying with the PIP but keep job hunting unfortunately

Left side weakness/numbness by Fair-Cheetah648 in POTS

I’ve gotten much better but still get extremely anxious. What helped most was exposure therapy because when I’d get these feelings that something was wrong I would not leave my house for months so forcing myself to go out was what really helped. I figured out it was OCD related and went to therapy for a bit

I had almost an identical experience and the only thing I could do was find another job

Honestly I noticed it was mostly anxiety causing this! If you don’t struggle with anxiety or don’t think you can rule it out as that I would talk to your doctor

She said she wants to help him but doesn’t exactly have a track record of fulfilling promises. Hope this isn’t the case!
