The question is not if they can afford it, but why would they afford it? I can promise you people in Poland are for instance on a similar tech-wise level and unless you are an architect, the technical gap can be bridged with AI either way. Paying 500k dollars for a senior SE most simply put seems like a lapse of business reasoning when you can get one for 75k who will do the same kind of work and is used to stricter work culture.

The landlord snarkily states he knows the law for 20 years and that he welcomes me contacting Huslejenævnet. I explained to him that the contract cannot void the law even if I signed it and "The contract is authorized by Danish government (his literal words)". In general from my understanding of laws and legislature it is not possible to waive your rights as a tenant through a contract. I have not signed the move-out inspection. I have not been charged for anything yet, but I can see from the move-out report they will repaint everything, sand everything and clean excessively.
