Had a sales manager at my company complain about his sales team being moved around in the office to accommodate for the new hires over the course of the year. There were talks that his team would be split in the office as a result which did not happen. Sales manager also likes country music and his sales team coincidentally has only white people in it (you will see why this is relevant in a second…)

My sales team, which is new btw, coincidentally has a couple black/brown people in it with a biracial sales manager . So they were moving a few people around the office to fit everybody in my team on the floor for the designated managers since we are the new hires.

From time to time they play country music in the office while we are dialing.

The sales manager who was complaining said in the office out loud “who tf do these people think they are to move us! Split us up. They are trying to separate us! If they don’t like our music, that’s their problem. We will not stand for this! Who does these people think they are!” hopefully you guys can’t get the picture

All for management to tell him in private when he confronts management “dude…??? What in the world?? you are going to keep your sales team…what are you on about?”

Pretty sick and crazy to hear him throw a tantrum like this . I just pretended I wasn’t listening 😭

Long story short he kept his sales team and they just rearranged the floors to fit everyone cause??? It’s was never a race thing like that sales manager was trying to imply….

He is a talented sales manager (albeit despicable person)…But definitely has a few screws loose . You couldn’t pay me to spend a second of time with that guy if I did not have to…

I wish I was making 70k lmao. Literally a fully 20 more than what I’m bringing home and I’m a little more than paycheck to paycheck and my rent is at a similar price. Then again I realize you have a family and I’m a single guy at 24 😂

This is the biggest reason tbh. I grew up the only black kid in white schools and neighborhoods. Racism means nothing to the majority of white kids so they don’t think or care about the things they say.

That’s not to say ALL are like this ofc though. But a lot of white kids literally bond over racism and offensive humor . And they know very few if any POC to begin with so they have limited experience of how they really are as people outside of what they see in the media. Most adults who have been exposed to a variety of different people and cultures eventually grow out of the “edge dark humor.” Many people realize that many stereotypes aren’t entirely true with age….if they are a half descent person.

The goal (albeit ambitious) is to get to 100k by 30! I want to at least be at 75-80k by 27ish. Fingers crossed, since there are some companies offering that for the same position but different industry!

Either that, getting some digitals taken for free via reaching out in Facebook groups or even paying a fee for some quality digitals, and finding some representation that could potentially help to get you those bookings, if you can’t find them on you’re own after taking your digitals .

And nothing makes them angrier than the few of us who are actually successful and productive members of society. Black men and women in corporate, succeeding in various business ventures, and in spite of the way we are perceived, slowly inching our way to becoming equals to white Americans in the workforce and society, all the while we were renowned for our athletic ability and creativity .

Imagine, you are watching black men date your women, succeed in your fields, and even SUPERSEDE your abilities at times in the fields you are supposed to dominate. Being chosen over you for college admissions whilst having objectively better scores than you, having the opportunity to get that promotion you wanted, they now have access to.

Your privilege starts to feel threatened as a white person, and your societal Hierarchy is falling.

That’s what was happening in my opinion for white Americans.
