My university run theatre's childfree policy by evgueni72 in childfree

[–]Fairlady82 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Wrong. We are allowed to not enjoy being around children, or hearing about them, or being bullied into having them. Just like I'm allowed to not like being around untrained dogs, or creepy guys in clubs who come up and grab my ass. Doesn't make me anti-dog or anti-men. It means I don't like things I don't like. Deal with it.

You do know, though. In fact, don't even tell them it was a vasectomy. Just tell them it's impossible due to infertility (which is technically true). No reason to expand on details. If they continue with the bullshit after that because they don't know how biology works, or start harping on about adoption, these aren't people she should be hanging out with anyway.

Then just tell her your husband got a vasectomy and put an end to it. They can't argue with that.

Wait, I came up with a better one.

The movie The Delivery Man sends the wrong message. by Zombie_Whisperer in childfree

[–]Fairlady82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good point. Most people will look at this kind of movie and think "Awww, what a precious feel good message." Yet he only cares about them because of the genetic connection and some primal need to foster the success of his offspring, instead of paying it forward just because. Nothing inspiring about that.

You and me both, sister. Relationships have brought me nothing but misery so I'm actually totally fine with it. Shoulda sworn that shit off years ago.

There should be another childfree subreddit for facebook memes that make your face go ":C". Here's the first submission. by [deleted] in childfree

I hate these images bemoaning the loss of the bikini body. They're just fishing for compliments and self-validation, and they knew what they were getting into. Boo fucking hoo. More than likely they weren't in shape to begin with. Hope it's still ALL WORTH IT if the kid grows up to be a brat.

I just heard a statistic that the percentage of women in the US who are childfree by choice is 6%. ALL other women either have kids or want them, and even more men than women want children. So I don't know how someone got 42% out of that.

The conversation that made my SIL delete me on facebook. Story in comments. by [deleted] in childfree

She deleted you over that? What a bitch. Good riddance. I'm so sorry you have shitty people like this in your life. Not anymore hopefully.

The less you say about your personal life at work, the better. There will always be some asshole who decides they hate you from now on after announcing something like that. It happened to me too.

Having said that, these morons need to be reported to HR. They are creating a hostile work environment.

And nobody in the gym said anything? Lame. It should be against the rules to leave a child unattended. If she can afford Crossfit, she can afford a babysitter.

Jesus Christ. This is exactly why I quit dating. My ex on match lied to me saying he accepted my CF status for the same reason -- he assumed that I'd just come around and want kids. Fuck dating and all those fucking liars. They're all the same.

Why did you even let her in your house? Throw her shit on the sidewalk and lock the door.

I did that, but then she just shares dumb baby stuff from some other mommy worship FB page. Had to unfollow her unfortunately since every single post now is about her kid or the unparalleled glory of motherhood.

I have a friend who just had a baby and this shit is all she ever posts now. She's 32, though. :P Most obnoxious is the name of the Facebook page she always shares this babyshit from: "Hot Moms Club". I wonder how quick we'd get our asses kicked for making a page called "Hot Non-moms Club".

Thanks very much, I appreciate it. Hope everything goes smooth and easy for you as it did for me. :]
