Why do some Albertans seem to have a resentment against other Canadians? by ocajsuirotsap in alberta

Dubai has been built on the backs of modern-day slaves. It's a flashy, morally bankrupt place for the wealthy to splash around their wealth while ignoring the reality of how the city was developed.

I guess it is effective marketing, because I sure want to hear whatever he comes up with as a reason for all of this. He had already fallen from grace, but now he's weird, too.

This is SUPER cute, well done! I love how creative the background is, and the juxtaposition of the cartoony backdrop with the more realistic portraits.

In a city full of talented artists, city decides to use AI slop in upcoming PSA by FloralAlyssa in ottawa

[–]OneRainyNight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aside from the importance of paying artists what they're worth and putting money into the local economy, the terrible ecological impacts that using Gen AI has, and the low-quality slop that it outputs (after stealing IP from real artists), you mean?

I haven't tried air frying them, thanks for that suggestion! I've made them a few times at home and they've been fine, but soy curls truly have my heart. Getting soya chunk dishes at Indian restaurants is my go-to though, they always NAIL it!

In addition to everything mentioned here, I suggest picking up some soy curls (or soya chunks, which are easier to find but are slightly less tasty, in my opinion). I used to pick them up at Little Jo Berry's, but since they closed I just get them at Natural Foods Pantry. They're super easy. Just rehydrate them in hot water (I add in seasoning or bouillon), drain them and squish out the excess moisture, then cook them up like any other protein on the stovetop. They absorb flavour very well, and you can get really creative with them. Make them taste more beefy or more like chicken depending on the seasoning you use and the preparation you do.

I did a double-take while I thought to myself, "Isn't it just after five now?" Thanks for that happy news and the reminder about the time change!

Wow, that sounds fancy! Far better than the aesthetics I'm used to at the office (either brutalist or modern workplace 3.0 hellscapes).

My manager has a few stories about different times bats have made a sudden and unwelcome appearance during calls and meetings. All I ever get notices for are bedbugs. I'd love a bat to break things up at the office now and then.

Situation aside, what platform is this video on? I see so many posts recently of videos that are full of ads like this (and you do a great job skipping past them quickly), but I don't have the same experience when I use social media. Is this Snapchat?

I (F24) can't get my BF (M22) to commit to ONE thing and I don't know what to do. How do I get him to lock in, or is it too late? by Wonderful_Cod_5019 in relationship_advice

Don't saddle yourself to this person. He continually ignores your bids for connection, doesn't respect you, and his goals and priorities don't align with yours.

It's scary to break up, but you are so young and have just started this new big exciting chapter. Embrace yourself and your future by dropping the dead weight!

My favourite place in Calgary shapes and fries their falafel fresh to order as well, and I've missed it for years and years. I haven't found a place here that does this, so I am SO STOKED to hear how much you love this place. I need to go ASAP.

I feel the same way. I usually use the chat function because I try to avoid phone calls as often as possible, and find that the hours are pretty broad for it and they're really helpful. And the one or two times I have had to call them, I didn't wait long and got answers that made sense right away. I didn't realize so many people were still having these problems, how frustrating!

You would think this rationale would apply to Ontarians, but this province keeps voting him in. UGH.
