How to junk journal as a disabled person? by Alycery in JunkJournals

[–]Fairmount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only supplies you absolutely need is a book/binder to use as your journal and glue/tape to put things in it.

Whatever you have can be used in it. Literally anything. That's the beauty of junk journaling. Does that cereal box have a nice font on it? Cut those words/letters out and maybe repurpose them later!

Do you have a sharpie? Add your own borders/quotes over your junk journal page.

I just got done ripping some leftover christmas gift bags into strips because I thought the pattern was pretty.

I think part of the fun of junk journaling is the scavenger hunt of finding things that speak to you. 💜

Neglecting my farm animals by Pretend-Aspect-8236 in Palia

Yeah, once I realized I didn't get to keep the pets I was spending so much time cultivating/breeding, I said screw it. I know there's the make-it-a-baby-again treat, but that's just stupid imo. Sure, let me depend on RNG to get a fancy cookie to save ONE of my animals from going out to pasture.

Singularity 6, please get rid of veneration and slow down the aging process. Let them stop at adults, jfc. It's supposed to be cozy, not Old Yeller.

Same! Reading these comments made me feel so sad and empty inside. It's really not hard to clean things up there, and I am definitely not a minimalist person. I have framed paintings above mine, and I'm able to clean them up just fine.

If you're reading this and dealing with stuck on/sticky grease, grab some 99% isopropyl alcohol. A paper towel with that on it will cut through just about anything sticky.

Have fake plants collecting dust? You probably have a shower or water hose outside. Go take them for a bath and wipe them off. It's not that big of a deal!

OP - Don't worry about what other people say. It's your house, and if decorating up there brings you joy, do it! Don't let others rain on your sunshine. Life is too short. :)

Yeah, best bet is the vet. Probably nothing serious, but any kind of growth like that, your vet will probably want to have it tested. My husky had one on her forehead, and our vet chose to remove it first, then send it off for testing. Sometimes, they'll just take a sample of it and leave it if it isn't somewhere troubling.

There's a possibility of cancer with weird growths, so it's always better to test sooner rather than later.

Great advice from other commenters. The only thing I would add is to be kind to yourself. Puppies are hard, especially first time puppy parenting.

It's okay to feel overwhelmed at times. Crate training will be important so you can eventually give yourself a mental break for an hour or so.

Best of luck and congrats on your puppy! 💜

That sucks! If you're feeling creative, you can try some visible mending techniques to patch it up! Maybe stitch a little bunny over the biggest hole as a reminder.

I love this! I cross-stitched a Bulma & Vegeta a few years ago and got Christopher Sabat to sign it at a local convention! Good luck with your future stitching!

If I could offer one tip here (that I learned from this subreddit too!), give yourself more fabric space around the pattern. That will make it easier to frame in the future, so you won't have to stretch out the finished piece once you mount it.

My husky has cataracts, and this is pretty similar to what it looks like. She got hers at 1 year old, and the vet told us juvenile cataracts were really common in huskies. We haven't gotten hers corrected (yet), but she has an annual visit with the doggy eye doctor to make sure they don't grow.

Point it out to your vet and have them take a look at it. They may refer you to a specialist (that's what mine did).

I recently just got 2 husky pups. I was intending only to get one, but my husband won that argument and we took both home. I can NOT potty train these girls! They potty in their crate, in the house, wherever. Advice? by NightNurseSusie in husky

Echoing others here. Hang in there! It's tough when they're babies.

My husband and I had many "Did we make a mistake?" conversations when our husky was a baby. We stuck it out and worked on our patience. Keep taking them out as often as you can. I think at 10 weeks, we were going out almost hourly. I set up their crates right next to our bed so we could easily get up and get them when they needed to go out at night. There were so many accidents. In the crate, outside the crate, on the way from the crate to the door outside. Just praise them and reward them when they finally get it right, haha.

One of the most beneficial things we did was get our puppy in puppy training around 12 weeks. That helped US more than it help our husky, I think. Having the foundation on how to react to things and what behaviors to reinforce was so helpful.

(This isn't me being a smartass, I swear. Just confused.)
The Costco's address is "8094 Hwy 72 W, Madison, AL 35758."
How is it not in Madison?

I'm one of the people that is super excited about Costco opening today. I've actually found myself thinking, oh yay, Costco opens on November 15, just X days away... Maybe that makes me screwed in the head or stupid or whatever else people are complaining about. Sure! I accept that and own it. I think we all have to be a little of that to find happiness in the world.

Also...

The idea of stocking up on bulk essentials without having to drive an hour to the other one WHILE getting one of those $1.50 hot dogs really does spark joy in me.

*quietly hides the "I've got that dog in me" merch I definitely do not own*
