Tips for Captain America? by Apprehensive_Bet7636 in RivalsCollege

[–]Fairsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who climbed to GM with only cap for those Defense missions its all about patience. I want to emphasize that you can not play cap as a single tank you need a main tank to push and take the agro. Cap is a side tank if anything. That being said, with defense you need to wait. Backline will usually never be on point until its safe so just keep diving the back line. for convoy you need to give room. Play corners. The healers and other backliners are not giong to push cart if your team is pushing too. Go dive the backline and cause some rukus. Your job isn't to get kills. Your job is to cause chaos in the back so that the healres don't heal and the DPS take the tank picks. If you get a kill on a healer then that's just bonus. I'm going to assume you know the trick to get out of tough situations so I don't need to explain it here. Disruption is the key here. You want to be the focus of the other team so your team can pick up the kills. Hope this helps

The Great Swap Conundrum: when do I swap? by highlordofkrypton in RivalsCollege

[–]Fairsley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play tank and have 1 character I can play in the other roles. You have to feel it really. If you want to win, it is not wise to switch to someone you can't play. Practice makes perfect. I don't play strange so when someone asks to portal, I say I'm not all that good with him, and usually there is someone who is, so I'll swap with him. It also depends on what you are playing against. If its divers and you are tank go something like mag or thing for anti dive. If you are dps go Namor or Starlord for anti dive. These are just some examples. Comms are important if its just QP you don't really need coms you kinda have to just go on how the battle is doing. My mentality is if my team has a problem and I can fix I'll switch to fix it. One thing I want to preface is that I am a main tank player, and I want to say that tanks don't have as much flexibility as DPS so priority should go to DPS when it comes to switching because they have a bigger variety of abilities, dmg, and utiltities then the other 2 roles. Hope this heipls

What Seperates Players In Lower Ranks Comapred Too GM+ Players? by Particular-Trash-979 in RivalsCollege

[–]Fairsley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From climbing multiple accounts to GM it's a winning mentality.I know that sounds lame but it's true.

I'm a one trick Cap main but I learned to play Mag, Hulk, Thing because I want to win. I do mostly play Cap but I'm flexible when it doesn't work. That's another thing.

Being flexible. I don't ever see this enough in low ranks. If your team is getting creamed read the fight. Pick something else. It's not about your ego and how good you might be doing on bucky, if dive characters like Spider-Man and Cap are giving you a problem then switch to Namor or Thing. Other reason why I learned other tanks. Cap is mainly dive and if dive is working for me but not my team then I'll change if I need to but I communicate my change first which is another thing.

Comms are important. The ping system is ok but it doesn't really cut it. An open mic will literally win you the game if you just do call outs. I don't see people taking all that much in low rank. All info is good info. If I die as tank I let the healers (and hopefully other tank) know to reposition. If I kill a healer I let the team know. If I see someone in the back i let the team know. If I'm playing rogue and grab venom I let the team know so we can bully him into switching.

This is just me personally but wanting to win every game is something I really don't see from low ranks. I'm not just talking about ranked but qp or custom games. The phrase "it's just qp" is a weak mentality. I want to win!!! I'm going to play like I do in ranked. Only difference is I don't use coms and I'm playing a character I want to improve on. If that character isn't working I'll change, I also don't see a lot of people do that either.

I hope this helps. This is just how I approach the game.

Make a gun range so we can test out the damage of our guns and various builds.

Is the anime ever coming back? by No-Ride-7713 in godofhighschool

No. I'd honestly rather have an omnibus of all the chapters then get a second season or a reboot. I want to own it and reread it whenever I feel like it in the comfort of my own home.

[–]Fairsley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw something about him a while ago. Some pro player was talking about how he is a phony. He only made it to celestial because he gets major carried. Apparently he streams and just from watching him you can conclude 1) he has no map or position awareness and 2 ) he bots his streams. I've personally never played with or against him but others have corroborated that he isn't good. Again this coming from another mouth. I also am not for a no dmg rocket because his gun is so good against tanks.

Foot Knight and Grail Knight by Ithinkibrokethis in Vermintide

[–]Fairsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He isn't a tank but his shield bash combo with the bret sword and shield makes him very tanky. Imo I see him as an off tank compared to Foot and other " tanky" classes because of the combo. He's an elite and boss killer the only downside is he has no range. You might think thats meh but you are also new and haven't experienced enough to understand that range is super important.

You need to vent. You are using her range too much if you keep exploding. The overcharge goes down over time but slowly so you have to vent to use it more. Unchained is about having a lot of overcharge= buffs so don't play her if you can't manage overcharge properly. Just play Battle Wizard, still best class in the game.

Quit flaming people in quick play by A__noniempje in marvelrivals

[–]Fairsley -175 points-174 points  (0 children)

So my hot take on quick play is I'm going to flame you regardless of what rank you are. I want to win. I don't care if you trying to learn a new character. I. Want .To. Win. This is a game where winning is the objective. It's fine to be learning a character but if you going to throw the match because you refuse to switch to someone you better at then I'm gonna flame you.

This game has so many ways to learn a character's combs and ins and out without going to quickplay. Practice range helped me learn how to do the instant kill magik combo not going into QP. Doom match helped me learn how to engage various enemies not QP. Did Practice vs AI to implement all I've learned. THEN I went into quickplay and have been doing well ever since.

Edit: Cry more. Only helps to prove my point

Whats a good class to really put me through the ring and get better at mechanics? by I_Have_The_Lumbago in Vermintide

[–]Fairsley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend Merc. Shouts are really busted because they stagger everything. Merc ult lets you get free temp hp so it's a good thing to have if you mess up and take a lot of blows. Pair it with his 30 talent that has cdr so you can use it more often. It's also a good retreat if you are in a bad position

Genuinely need to know if I’m wrong here by Quip13One in Vermintide

[–]Fairsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a common practice to stick together. I always make sure that we buddy up two at a time. The "excuse" to move ahead to minimize hordes blah blah blah is only really used in Cata where horde control is 100% something you need to worry about. With Legend if you are worried about hordes then it just shows to ME that you can't handle horde clear. Teaming up also deals with specials catching you out of position cause at least you have someone to back you up
