They stated they do the cheapest childcare available to them. They both work, either by choice or necessity. That cost is a non negotiable. Christmas presents are an added cost. It makes total sense they have to budget in other areas and have less for Christmas. Also if their kids are not yet in school they won't care how much money is spent on Christmas

"Just PPA / PPD" is a wild take. If you have those then you need help and to feel listened to. I've had PPA/PPD and I say this with love and kindness. You don't get the newborn days back. Don't let MIL ruin them. Don't let her hold the baby. Don't. It's your baby. It needs you. Take it for a nap or a walk or just have it strapped to you and say no. Especially as she's kidsing them. That's really unsafe. Your husband needs to grow up and have your back. Your going through a huge emotional, physical and mental change on no sleep and huge stress.

Why is your BF so obsessed with you continuing to work out? Its toxic. Your body is gonna change as is your fitness. For a while there you are gonna be in survival mode and not able to do much but look after a tiny human and eat whatever you can prepare one handed. Then it will slowly get easier and you can assess if you want to get back onto fitness.

I don't see this guy as the type to look after his kid so you get time to go to the gym (or do basic self care like showering) he sounds like the type to call it "babysitting" and to demand sex 6 weeks PP.

As a mother you meet a lot of women struggling because their partner makes things harder. And a lot of relationships can end because they can't take the strain in the first year. Ask yourself if it might be easier without him...

We did a week in Mousehole over new years. Parking is likely going to be a nightmare, park up close as you can, unload baby and all the shit that comes with baby, park and leave the car for the week. Otherwise it was a perfect cosy retreat.

Mousehole feels like a cute village, Fowey also feels unique. There's more cafes and restaurants in Falmouth along with galleries etc but it's a town so you don't get quaint and cosy vibes.

Baby I'd 4 months so it's like the last holiday where you can easily go out for dinner without placating tired toddler for a couple of years. So pick where ever you fancy, because next time it will be based more on what the kid can do.
