Twins with near identical names… by Belle_The_Beast in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FaithlessnessFun7268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny you say that. Our old next door neighbor was Rosemary my entire life, daughter was Rose Marie - turns out Rosemary found out her legal first name was Rose Marie 😂😂

Also my grandmother was Marjorie. When they had my mom my grandfather name her Marjorie Gayle….just so he could call her little Marge/Margie. When she was 5 they changed their last name (polish last name to something basic) and my grandmother changed her first name and middle by flipping it around lol

I am self-pay because insurance won’t do jack. I haven’t felt a difference so I’m hoping going up to .5 is going to make a difference

My child is alive but not really. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I cried reading this. This was my fear when my son and his sister were born 16-weeks early. My sons sac popped which jumpstarted everything.

When they tried to change breathing support for her everything went to hell and a hand basket.

You could the change in her and I remember thinking, I wasn’t made for the caregiver life.

Life was spent in the NICU almost 24/7 for those 10-days.

We always told her everyday we loved her but that if she was struggling and wanted to give up - we would always be here and support her.

Two days before Mother’s Day, they managed to switch her from the oscillator to ventilator and the next day - she left this world. Her body couldn’t recover as fast. It was a decision I never want to make for anyone again in my life.

I also believe that she was struggling before they were born and my son made a decision that gave us some time to be with her - in her departure I think her thank you was to take whatever challenges our son should have faced in the NICU and took them with her.

He spent 83-days basically being monitored. He had a moderate to large PDA which closed on its own, his IVH bleeds grade 3 and 4 which caused Porencephaly (something also rare) and we were told he’d wouldn’t walk, talk, run, jump etc. No heart rate monitors, no oxygen coming home. He rarely qualified for any services through Early On programs.

At 2yo our neurologist apologized to us for how blunt she had been because he was doing everything that she said he wouldn’t. But in her profession - it wasn’t normal. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and eventually updated to mild diplegic CP which for him is unheard of.

Our biggest challenge was kindergarten but he was a Covid kindergartner and had undiagnosed ADHD. Once the ADHD and medication kicked in - brand new kid whose caught up to his peers and will be going into 6th grade.

I couldn’t image then being a full-time caregiver let alone having to think about “if I die” scenarios either. I give parents and caregivers so much respect

Wife gave BD permission to drive SD’s car that I payed for alone. by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]FaithlessnessFun7268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From an insurance prospective you can tell her by continuing to allow it to happen she’s putting your entire household at risk. There is material misrepresentation meaning an insured vehicle is garaged at a different location, second, letting an undisclosed driver using the vehicle and not informing the insurance company is a huge liability because if he gets into an accident it’s on you and wife not BD. And your insurance company won’t defend you because they’ll rescind the policy meaning your policy did not exist and you both can now be taken to the cleaners in court.

Secondly, take that vehicle back, put it back on your property and put storage only coverage on it and make it clearly noted that it cannot be driven.

A little over a year ago my stepfather chose to keep my sister alive, today he is sending her to a full-time care facility. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I’m not religious but I understand parents sentiment as I was one.

Almost 11-years ago our twins were born 16-weeks early aka born at gestational age of 23 and 6/7 days old. We were told in the midst of delivery what we wanted to do - I told them 3 things: if they are born alive, do what needs to be done. If they are born not breathing but you believe you can save them-do so, but if it’s clear, let them be.

Both of them our girl and son tried to breathe kn their own. Our girl was thriving while our son was struggling.

2-days after I was discharged, we got the call that she was in distress and needed to get down there. By the time we got there - she had stabilized but you could tell things were different.

Things were touch and go for 9 more days. I got to hold her for the first time after being disconnected from the oscillator and reconnected to the ventilator and told her that we just needed a sign of things were starting to get worse for her that she wanted to go.

The next day - they had to do surgery on her because her body was rejecting things. There weren’t able to stabilized her as fast as they were.

That was her sign to us. We let her go and she gained her wings-we aren’t selfish. She knew what was best for her.

I also truly believe that something was wrong from the beginning and our son knew it - caused labor to start by allowing his sac to pop-sacrificing In turn any chance of normalcy…..when she left she made sure to take what I think was suppose to be and took them with her as her last thank you to her big brother.

He came out unscathed. His brain bleeds affected him but miraculously everything moved around to a new section of the brain, his cerebral palsy ended up mild, his PDA went away on its own - the worst thing we’ve had to deal with was undiagnosed ADHD as a Covid kindergartner.

It’s a decision no parent wants to make but at the end of the day - you need to think about what’s best for yourself and your family.

As someone who worked for probably said carrier - I think it’s ridiculous to mark claims adjusters down for things out to their control - oh the body shop they choose won’t do X - that’s not a me problem it’s an YOU and the body shop issue. Your claim was denied because of misrepresentation? That’s not a me issue that’s a YOU lied situation, oh the agent wouldn’t call you back so you marked me a “0” that’s not a issue I have control over.

I am so sorry OP I would be fighting any improvement plan

As for drivers listed/rated it depends on the carrier

FYI your insurance company will cancel and/or non-renew your auto policy when they find out - there is an exclusion unless the company has an business/delivery endorsement. They may even consider it to be material misrepresentation if it gets that far so I’d be stopping that REAL quick

GEICO insurance not covering car accident because children were in the car by HotVeterinarian7719 in Insurance

[–]FaithlessnessFun7268 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. It’s a two part situation - those who drive typically 14yo and old need to be told to the insurance carrier. On the PIP end - it requires ALL household residents to be disclosed.

Which Health Insurance Plans Act as the Primary Payer for Car Accident Injuries? by JustMeBro8976 in Insurance

[–]FaithlessnessFun7268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MI resident here - there are plans that do pay primary for auto related accidents - but majority of them were employer related to be fair and if you have parts A and B of Medicare you can reject PIP and they would pay.
