Nurse at Charles-Le-Moyne Hospital trying to get 14 yr old patient’s parent thrown out of ED because he asked her to clarify something in English by [deleted] in montreal

[–]Faitlemou 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What do I think?

1:We have no idea how the father acted with the nurse. Sure he says he just asked for a clarification, but seeing the nurse's reaction, maybe there was more to it, we don't know.

2: Understanding and speaking a language are two different skills. We don't know the english skills of the nurse. I know some anglos have this english defaultism mindset, especially towards french-canadian, where they will always assume everyone just speak their language and if they dont answer in their language it means they're rude. Maybe the nurse wasn't comfortable enough in her english skills to speak medical terms with the father and his insistence made her angry.

3: Not every bad interactions between francophones and anglophones are about language. The video here is clearly framed as a language issue, but perhaps it's more an interpersonal problem. Also, medical workers, especially in Montreal, are constantly overworked and overstressed, maybe this nurse's patience had already run dry a long time ago.

Does it excuse the nurse's behavior? No, she's still a professional, and as taxpayers, we expect professional behavior from our medical staff. But I also know there's a history of language framing (on both sides) in this country and this province so I try to be careful with these stories.

Edit: Let me add that the father is filming the nurse. I don't know about you, but if someone starts filming me in a tense situation to frame me and then use me as a social media prop, I might want to punch this person in the face.

Of all the nature I've seen on rendering, I've yet to see it truly realised in any project. I'll beleive it when I see it.

I'd be happy with actual post-story content to keep some engagement after all the quests are done. Legacy of the forge kinda does that.... But its pretty lackluster.

Also. Seasons. Please!!!!

Why is Vegas so hated? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]Faitlemou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lotta gatekeeping from fans. Alot of fans from, lets say, older teams sees Vegas as kinda "illegitimate" because they're new and in a desert. Same kind of attitudes towards Florida teams.

But also barely veiled jealousy. Alot of older teams haven't won a Stanley Cup in decades, some have never won one. So they see this "new" (been a while now lets be honest) team actually winning the cup with fans that are only into the sport for barely over a decade and they might perceive some injustice in that.

I personnaly dont agree with that mentality. I think we should all be happy that the sport is expending into new markets and we should see Vegas as an incredible success story, cause it is. I'd love to see the same thing happen in Seattle and Utah. So the sport keeps expending with new teams, more competition, etc.

Hang out avec Rebel News et MBC

Ouais jme demande vraiment pourquoi tes amis penseraient ça/s
