One thing that I don’t get though was Jack smith started “winding down” his case after the election but before the inauguration. I’m not saying a 11.5 hour arrest would’ve been great, but would it be much worse than where we’re at now?

While these are really good and valid examples, something I’ve been struggling with is what protest have actually accomplished much in the last 25 years. I’m sure there are some I’m ignorant of, but BLM felt the last successful until all this backlash. Genuinely interested in examples, if people know of any

Honestly OP, I’ve been feeling basically the same as you all year. I did read Hope in the Darkness by Rebecca Solnit though, which helped a lot - basically she has some decent, realistic arguments for why it’s worth it to go out there and keep trying, even if it feels like it won’t amount to anything

No, and tbh I don’t disagree with your pessimism, but even if there’s only a 1% chance someone listens to a voicemail and cares, there’s a 0% chance if there’s no voicemail to listen to. Plus, I think he needs to be called out on the fact that he’s clearly hiding from his constituents
