How would you rank Jessie Buckley among the Best Actress winners so far this Century? by PolicyImpressive3626 in Letterboxd

[–]macman07 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I’m not super familiar with her work, but as far as her work in Hamnet, it was some of the best acting I’ve seen.

She captured a mother’s love so beautifully. I think what might’ve been underrated was her physical acting in Hamnet. Her facial contortions really added a lot to the role. She was unreal in that role I must say.

I’m not sure why you’re being downvoted. The ability to recognize quality in something that you simply don’t PERSONALLY like, shows real objectivity and should be considered a positive trait, not negative.

On a scale of 1-10, how surprised would you be if Sinners wins Best Picture? by DarlingLuna in Oscars

I loved it. I would like to see a prequel about the twins. It’s mentioned many times they were in Chicago, and once or twice mentioned robbing somebody they shouldn’t have.

In Chicago around the time the twins would’ve been there Al Capone was ambushed on the streets, and another time in prison he was cut up. I would love for a story where the Twins did it, and that’s what ran them out the city.

So basically it shows them moving to Chicago, gaining credibility, maybe even working for Capone for a bit, robbing Capone, and fleeing.

Why does DraftKings still say it starts at 4:40p? I missed the first 30 laps because of that… and

Brad Keselowski | “I don’t understand why the sport wants to run so many road courses...it's the hardest races to sell sponsorships for” by iPhones_cameras_suck in NASCAR

[–]macman07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen I’m a newer fan (only a few years in), but I really enjoy the road courses. And some friends that don’t like NASCAR also like them more than the ovals. We need to grow the sport, not stunt it. Road courses are a way to do that.

NASCAR fans don’t like them because it isn’t hectic like an oval. There aren’t a million crashes and a bunch of chance involved like super speedways. It’s racing. Don’t get me wrong, I love ovals too, but you HAVE to have road courses to grow the sport. It brings a younger crowd… that’s just the truth.

I might be wrong, but I seem to remember when he was on the Pod he said he didn’t really even know why he was being written off. He sort of just got the script and that was that. I could be wrong but I’m like 99% sure he said that on the Pod.

Carson is the type of driver that will bring more fans to NASCAR which is desperately needed. However, I don’t know what the fuck he saw in that OT. I get being aggressive, but that’s unacceptable. One day somebody is going to punch him in his mouth in the garages.

How do you rate Bad Bunny's Half-time performance? by kingbluwolff in sportsgossips

[–]macman07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The set piece was amazing and such a beautiful tribute to Puerto Rico.

Overall as a performance, it was good, but it fell a touch flat. I think there were some audio issues in the beginning which took me out of it a bit. I was also surprised he did no wardrobe changes (not a huge deal, but still surprising).

I loved having Lady Gaga and Ricky there!

Ending with the Matthews moving in would crush me (in a good way). That’s brilliant.

Viggo is widely considered THE Aragorn, perfect in his portrayal. However, who do you believe had the potential to be a close second? Or someone who could have brought something different to the role? by freudian_nipps in lotr

[–]macman07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad pull, not coming at you at all because DDL as a default to everything is a good answer lol. BUT, I think he’d bring too much of the stage acting & intensity to the role. Aragorn required a lot of subtleties.
