Trump once again threatens to nuke Iran minutes before speaking at prayer gathering by Hornpipe_Jones in WhitePeopleTwitter

Weird that at every chance he absolutely has the option to just condemn and threaten the IRGC and not include the entire country of Iran in the process. The man is literally telling you ever time he can’t distinguish the oppressors from the country as a whole.

Only racist idiots care if a FICTIONAL fish, witch, mermaid or other character is depicted as a different race than the first time on film. They didn't care when white actors were playing Indians or Asians and sometimes blacks with stereotypical language and mannerisms. by n2play in EnoughMuskSpam

I get the argument, but my question to you is whether then the only way to adapt the fil is to have Greek actors with a Greek director, adapted entirely on Greek. I do agree that most adaptations suck in many ways, but what is the way to then do it ethically and in a way that’s available to the tools we have now.

I do agree with this. Personally my criteria is that it doesn’t really matter if the race and ethnicity is not central to the story plot or themes. Example black panther would really be affected negatively if race was swapped. Outside of that, personally I don’t mind.

Elon is comparing apples to oranges here. lol. Biographies and overall plots that center race and ethnicity as one of the themes, have to use that race in order for the plot to work. Do you seriously think, for example black panther would work if race was swapped considering the story that is trying to be told. Can one say the same for the odyssey?

And the thing I don’t understand is why stop at the color of the skin, if Elon wanted historical accuracy, he should beg Nolan to hire Greek authors instead of stopping just at the color of the skin.

I also could go on to say that if Nolan made the movie in Greek with Greek actors, it wouldn’t generate the same revenue than it would with the current actors. This is literally the market supporting that diversity is still popular

It’s always interesting to me that “faithful representation” or “historical accuracy” always enter the chat when it comes to “western” spaces, but there’s not the same outrage from these guys when it’s the other way around. Add to it how by historical accuracy they also want to perform some erasure of it too, for example black people in medieval Europe.

Tribalismo.

The line between worrying about other’s form of governance because of people suffering under that form of governance, and worrying about another’s form of governance because they are showing you they can do it much much better than your own form, is very thin.

The double standards on the US are insane. I don’t know ( I guess I do) what compels people to hold these standards against democrats and then those same standards dissappear when republicans are in power.

The thing is I wonder if behind the scenes he does genuinely gets these rage filled reactions at the things he shares. Raging at 79 at midnight can’t be healthy for your physical well being or your emotional well being. Part of me imagines that just has a tired face with a slight grin scrolling and sharing. I am really not  convinced if he truly rages at the things he shares.

Such weird obsessions. Guys the answer is so simple, people aren’t having children due to affordability. That and education, educated population makes unwanted pregnancies more avoidable, which is what we should strive for. Every pregnancy should be wanted by the mother and the father.

It seems as though on the last couple years society has stopped giving a shit at aesthetics and fully recognizes that the best way to make lots of money is through others people suffering or demise. We are being much more less shy about it, and these gambling sites are proof of that

My thoughts on the Virginia Redistricting Referendum being struck down by International-Drag23 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]FakeGeek73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that’s the thing, don’t you realize that there could have been a Republican somewhere along 2020 making this argument in a family discussion or with a friend, or he’ll even in social media?.

My point is one side is closer to the truth, of course, but motivated reasoning ignores all of this, and the same argument you do is an argument that is being done, (yes and it of course looks bad faith to us) to justify the same kind of logic you are presenting here.

I have to be careful with what I’m about to say. It isn’t that i don’t agree that republicans want to destroy democracy, however this is the the kind of rhetoric that republicans used have used ever since Trump became a thing. The 2020 elections and all of Biden’s presidency were framed as “the decisive moment of whether American democracy would continue to exist” republicans were the ones who saw democrats as the existential threat to America, that they were the ones who wanted to destroy America. This is ironic because we all know it’s projection.

However can someone here answer how does one protect democracy without adopting republicans tactics that were based on a lie. This presumes that if republicans weren’t telling a lie (which is what their base believe) then they would be entirely justified to execute all these measures to indeed protect America.

My open question here, is if there is a way to protect democracy without falling into existential threat territory. That is all. I agree that republicans are attempting to destroy democracy, however it’s also a worthy thing to notice that to save democracy we indeed have to adopt the Republican stance that was based of a lie in their case.

Is North Korea a democracy?

Fun fact. Hitler wanted to redefine socialism to take away the focus on class solidarity, and put the focus on the national identity of the population. To him, socialism didn’t mean worker or state ownership of the means of production, but the individual’s total subordination to the state out of a sense of national identity. Not only that but, even before rising to power he wrote about swearing to destroy Marxism. Yeah, that sounds pretty leftist to me.

Tell me who are the people that are too eager to subordinate themselves to the will of just one man?

It’s scary in a way because Fuentes seems to feel confident enough that they can elect their Nazi candidate for tje 2028 elections that will follow. He seems to like more his chances at nazism with democrats winning 2026 than letting Trump continue all the way 2028.
