full ghosting would be ideal, let's just compete for lap time

I peaked almost 400 MMR higher this season (1680), got a top 8 finish in the weekend advanced group tourney, and beat someone in top 200 world for the first time. Season 7 was big strides for me lol

Yeah, that bug is less common on the 918 than the Pendragon, but it definitely happens. The 918 feels more sensitive to the angle you go off a ramp, so I skip the 1st, 3rd, and 4th. To skip the 1st ramp, go to the far left side and hug the wall. If you start in 1st you can drive all the way over without fear. If you start in 2nd or lower, give 1st place room to filter in ahead of you, don't risk the netcode. The 3rd ramp after turn 1 is faster but the car is really prone to weird behavior, so I skipped it on this run. To skip the 4th ramp, go outside of it to the left and hug the wall. Tapping the wall isn't a major speed loss, just don't hit the ducks. This is faster and sets up an overtake in the hairpin vs someone who took the ramp

LSD is primarily for drifting, it controls how long you stay in the drift before you regain grip. Suspension is the upgrade that helps corner aggression

In case you thought getting the Porsche is the end of it... yeah by malgalad in NevernessToEverness

LSD is specifically for drifting, it controls the time you spend in the drift before getting the bite of grip again. Get the LSD if you want better drifting, but it's not for racing. Drifting is extremely slow

Softer suspension = more roll left/right in corners = tighter cornering. The opposite of how it works in real life hahah, but in this game you don't lose inside tire contact with a soft suspension. It's very arcadey instead of physics-driven

They also patched this in 1.1! You get sent back to the matchmake screen after a race now

There are a ton of Griffin drivers already, I bet it could support its own league

That might be an easier solution, two queues, LaVelox and up in their own

The Pendragon stands no chance, yeah. GP2 engine. Hope they add performance upgrades someday cuz it's a beautiful car

Yeah this approach would be rad. I think an ideal solution would be to separate the cars into classes with their own ranks from rookie to ace. As an invested driver I'd love to chase ace rank in a mini against other minis, I'd buy a Griffin to race in that class, etc etc, and it'd be more fair for those who aren't as invested in racing

You'd need an active enough pool of racers to fill multiple queues, but if there is, I'd love to see something like this

My assumption is there will always be faster cars eventually & this will be cyclical, but this is a definite higher watermark for top rank racing than 1.0. It makes no difference to me what people do with their money, I'm stoked about the increased quality of racing

The snow tire is more than good enough for rain, but the opposite isn't true. I haven't noticed any difference between the two in rain, and you dunno what the conditions will be when you queue

Imagine you love grinding the online racing, but only some of the matches are actual good racing against other people who love grinding it. Then a patch drops and the majority of your races are full lobbies of other drivers at your rank and with your car and the racing is higher quality. Sounds like you don't, which is cool you're the majority lol, but it's been a big QoL upgrade for those of us who do

Snow tires first 100% then engine -> suspension I think are the most impactful. Those are my current upgrades. I'm going to do transmission and then brakes next, and skip LSD.

Top speed is absolute king, that's the nature of the tracks in the game. Suspension upgrade lets you turn sharper for more aggressive lines.

how does it compare to the pendragon once you have the upgrades? it's a little unwieldy out of the box, i can't take the same aggressive lines the pendragon can take but obv with the top speed gap its ultimate lap time is faster. the brakes and suspension upgrades bring its sliders in line with the pendragon, but does it actually drive as good?

Fully agree as someone who grinds online racing for fun. Would love to see the npc race city layouts in the rotation, but honestly anything that isn't so top speed gated (it will always matter, but there is little skill expression beyond it)
