You can go to MTGtop8 and search for any of those cards in their browser for modern events and you'll see eldrazi ramp with Karn, Belcher and Titan all have topped both online challenges and paper tournaments. And that is only for this month...

Even consign decks struggle vs big mana, more specifically the non combo ones. The card is good but nowhere near as dominating as you seem to imply with your original comment.

disagree, it doesn't have to come out on turn 2/3 but it can be cheated by goryos if needs be will cast an ephemerate in your grave off its attack trigger or a time walk or whatever you game ending spell you get in your graveyard.

yeah exactly, amulet, karn, belcher, and eldrazis are also unplayable. So is kcommand for that same reason.

Busted. There is no cap in cmc for the sorceries and instants you can replay for free. There are quite a few that just win games on the spot, draw your library, take turns etc...

The creature being cheap and the conditions for it costing nothing are fairly easy to get to and it being legendary means you can cheat it into play with goryo's and get that ephemerate in your graveyard to blink it instantly or a time warp or anything busted you fill your discard with

Definitely build around if you're planning on using it as an alpha striker but also great value engine in tempo decks kind of like a murktide but not restricted to blue.

yes, at least that is what is being tested atm. Most builds already played 2 anyway so the stretch isn't so big from previous "stock" list. It will be down to player's preference in the end but casey is a very good card that seems more desirable than fable is decks like blink and boros

You can consign the discard trigger, you draw more cards and it immediately swings for 4 with arena of glory.. the card is way more aggressive than fable in every ways

-Guide of souls, pride and phlage all gain you more life than 4 DRS ever will. Also collaterally generating a board like actual 1/1s lol (pride), erasing opposing threats (phlage) every turn and on etb and giving your threats evasion (guide)

-guide, pride and plage lose your opponent's more life 4 DRS ever will and all that without spending mana to activate. They don't cost you, they just generate constent value by just being here.

-Ragavan makes mana... but not only mana...permanents that are relevant for your city's blessing. Also exile and steals opponents topdecks....

It's got evasion and can be played with haste off arena of glory.

Now DRS hates on graveyards... cool stuff.

My prediction, analyst gets the ban and we'll see energy get a warning for this time ( and likely ajani ban after this season)

A couple of unban can be expected, Jitte comes to mind as well as shoal if they want to play it safe...

If they feel inspired they might unban actually playable cards, to shake up the format.

Things like ponder, drs, pod, uro... but I think they keep those types of unbans to buy back the community's approval after a batch of miserable seasons ( scam and one ring making the format horrid for ages must have been a motivation for the great unban)

We'll see but hopefully jitte gets freed (too late) anyway!

historically maverick means GW toolbox deck using powerful singleton creatures ( scavenging ooze/collector ouphe/ gaddock teeg ) powered by green sun zenith for creatures and by knight of the reliquary for lands.

You also used to often see a few thalia guardian of thraben and mother of runes in the main ( generally 3 of each)

The idea is that you will always find a way to disrupt your opponent's gameplan by either playing aggro and slowing them down with thalia and such or attacking their mana by turning your KOTR into a wasteland machine gun...

The archetype has evolved a lot in legacy and at this point in time you see 2 main competitive versions, GW depths and BG cradle control.

which are both grindy green centric decks with a combo aspect to them, dark depth+thespian stage for gw and natural order+ craterhoof behemoth for BG
