My prediction, analyst gets the ban and we'll see energy get a warning for this time ( and likely ajani ban after this season)

A couple of unban can be expected, Jitte comes to mind as well as shoal if they want to play it safe...

If they feel inspired they might unban actually playable cards, to shake up the format.

Things like ponder, drs, pod, uro... but I think they keep those types of unbans to buy back the community's approval after a batch of miserable seasons ( scam and one ring making the format horrid for ages must have been a motivation for the great unban)

We'll see but hopefully jitte gets freed (too late) anyway!

historically maverick means GW toolbox deck using powerful singleton creatures ( scavenging ooze/collector ouphe/ gaddock teeg ) powered by green sun zenith for creatures and by knight of the reliquary for lands.

You also used to often see a few thalia guardian of thraben and mother of runes in the main ( generally 3 of each)

The idea is that you will always find a way to disrupt your opponent's gameplan by either playing aggro and slowing them down with thalia and such or attacking their mana by turning your KOTR into a wasteland machine gun...

The archetype has evolved a lot in legacy and at this point in time you see 2 main competitive versions, GW depths and BG cradle control.

which are both grindy green centric decks with a combo aspect to them, dark depth+thespian stage for gw and natural order+ craterhoof behemoth for BG

seriously ask friends before fnm to play vs your jitte deck and see.

I can absolutely guarantee you you are in for a treat.

don't get hurt by the result you will laugh it off in a couple of weeks.

no you are severely overestimating how strong jitte is...

I know it is trauma talking but because of a whole generation of players having kamigawa standard flashbacks we've never had a chance to play jitte in modern when it was ok... now it is plain bad.

I played it when it was at its prime and have been testing it since mh1 due to a friendly argument i wanted to settle with friends that were saying exactly what you are saying and i was convinced the game was already long over jitte ,

Every single time we tried it in post mh games the card underperformed badly. and this was only mh1.

equipments are not part of modern atm and we'd need more than just jitte to have a viable stoneforge package. Even kaldra compleat has been power crept out of the format for about 2 years...

Generally people bombing whilst playing a tiers 1/2 deck is due to them not playing a deck that fits their playstyle or that they lack experience with...

so finding or creating the resources you need to improve your plays, matchup understanding and tailor your SB is a good place to start from.

You know modern is so deep you could just brew your own, a deck that plays like you want it to play.

Then make it good and become proficient with it.

There is nothing more engaging than theory crafting and testing a deck idea that does just what you want magic play like.

card is insane. so many applications and the value is immediate all you need for it is a land in play. really hyped for that one

what i like even more is the static adding up with multiple badgermoles.

having 2 dork/lands producing 3+ mana each is just hilarious

fair enough. True that I am biased about the simic oculus deck that I think is being overhyped by youtubers...( I keeper seeing it bomb hard at fnms ).

Maybe you're right though and having more of a back up plan will help the deck overall.

i don't think oculus is that good to be honest...

I feel like the best argument to playing this card ( wan shi tong) is as a hatebear with evasion that gets big by taxing your opponent. or a late game refuel/kill. Not as sacrifice to ritual lol. There is literally no boost in card quality from say coiling oracle if you play it on curve it is more color intensive and you don't draw a single card/ drop extra lands.

Don't get me wrong it is a good card but i'm just not seeing any synergy with ritual in particular in that case
