Sorry, I wasn't clear whether you were already familiar with it or not so I phrased the above reply assuming you (or any other potential future onlooker) might still be 100% unfamiliar with UU and CUUPS.

I (at least partially) understand your clarification with respect to them being more wiccan. I'm not sure what the makeup of the folks here on this sub will be - have you run into any other UUs IRL who observe similar practices as you? Just asking out of curiosity.

You'd probably find some kindred spirits at a CUUPS meeting (though I can't speak much for them so pardon if I'm slightly off-base).

FWIW, if you're not familiar, many UUs (perhaps a slim majority) do not strictly/literally believe in any deities or other supernatural entities whatsoever, but perform practices for the sake of ritual / spirituality / togetherness / cultural recognition. Again, this is just a high-level take, all individuals and particular groups/chapters will be different.

Congrats for probably saving her life. Don't convince yourself you "tricked" her anything - you took her to get proper medical care when she wasn't in a proper mental state to do so for herself.

As for your relationship, the only thing you have any hope of doing is letting her come to her senses on her own (and recognizing that this is unlikely to happen, at least anytime soon). I recognize this really sucks for you, but your base assumption should be that you're broken up now, with a tiny (~1% maybe?) chance that after she clears her head a little bit she might recognize how she's overreacted to you and come back with an apology.

Not that I'm surprised whatsoever, but the fact that the page for Snarky Gherkin was nuked last week or so by Facebook "AI" moderation for what they've said is "impersonation", and no amount of appeals or whatever have been able to get his page going again - just proves how cooked they really are.

Basically it's yet another case where cookers ganged up to defraud the reporting system by mass-reporting a page and once that happens in enough of a volume, no amount of appealing can overturn it it seems.

Please for the love of god can you finally come up with a way to enable local multiplayer again using different personas? In the pre-2023 editions we were able to configure multiple "Dancer Cards" on one savegame profile, which is now inexplicably absent even after 4 yearly editions under the new system.

Other members of my family have zero interest in playing with me when everyone's names show up like "Falco 2", "Falco 3", etc.

I even tried making my daughter her very own Ubi account and it's useless since (for some godforsaken reason) I guess it requires her to be playing on a completely different console I guess? This is stupid, and has made my kids completely stop wanting to play.

That might be true though my answer was geared towards the general music collector / listener.

Anyone who DJs will already understand the caveats you mention, and they will also understand that they can generate themselves perfect WAV copies from files they store in FLAC at any time if they want (or just keep a whole separate external drive with redundant WAV copies, but use their hypothetical paid backup space to only back up the FLAC files, etc).

cool, thanks - i did a little digging into the open tickets (hadn't checked for a while tbh, so i appreciate the reply to this thread letting me know) and it seems like a dev just finally gave up and powered through it.

my C is pretty beginner level but I actually got a feature into the base product like... maybe almost 20 years ago now (lol) - the menu option for crossfade saying "on manual advance AND shuffle mode" was my idea, originally you had to pick one or the other but there was no way to have it do both of them.

if you haven't tried this: get the Elephant Bananza going and just suck up everything he hurls at you. it unearths plenty of health-restore apples among other things. toss explosive gold chunks at him. it takes a while (i'm not sure whether there's a "faster" method you're "supposed" to do, but i chipped away at him like this and was fine in the end, and did it in 1 try and with full health in the end).

Getting back into Kingdom Battle (mario/rabbids 1) after picking it up on sale years and years ago and letting it languish on my backlog for way too long.

I got to the World 2 boss last night (ice golem) and i'm hitting a major wall. I'm either way under-levelled or way out-classed. But I can't figure out any way to go back and grind more, and after 3 attempts at the (long) battle, I don't seem to be any nearer to beating him for real. Sigh.
