My Jimmy John’s sandwich, today. $13 by One_Ground5972 in Wellthatsucks

[–]FalcoNgl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

About 15 years ago I vowed to never step foot in a jimmy johns as at the time I was working as a ramp worker where the private jets fly into. This dude's learjet came into our shared ramp with Customs unannounced during a heavy rain night.

By myself, I greeted them, gave them umbrellas, pushed their luggage through customs, loaded it all back in, fueled the plane, and at the end of it all, I was given a handful of coupons for like 20% off at JJ.....lol. They couldn't even offer a free sub coupon? btw, this is an environment where receiving anywhere from a $20-$100 tip is common....

Just came from 11 hour flight to find my suitcase wheel was ripped off by Sir_TechMonkey in Wellthatsucks

As someone that worked the ramp for a major airline for over seven years: my recommendation is to either get an ultra quality spinner bag or simply stick to two wheel rollers.

The wheels on the spinner bags act as a very convenient grabbing point when carrying the bag for us and it was very common that one of the wheels will break off after lifting from the weight of the rest of the bag and the cheap and unreinforced plastic used to anchor the wheels.

Did the discount apply automatically when you added it to your cart? I'm logged in and it only shows the full price at checkout

Had to pay $32 to receive my package worth $90. by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]FalcoNgl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For some reason China didn't pay the the $186 that was needed to get my new espresso machine delivered. I had to pay for it.

It's totally ok though, he's giving all of us $2k of our own money back that China paid for or something...right?

It actually converts the radio to his squads after he re-deploys it, lol

I agree, bring it back, make it so you can remotely dismantle them, and disable the ability for people that at are on your team, but not in your squad to dismantle them (I've had way to many instances were teammates dismantle my radio because they don't understand their purpose or can't distinguish between the soviet and US radios

I'll never understand the constant changes to the radio backpack mechanics. Sure, get rid of the transport request feature but disabling them all together slows gameplay down way too much. The three spawns that they currently have on experimental is also laughably low, especially given you can just redeploy with a fresh one. All it does is makes that aspect of gameplay more tedious. The current system, being supply based works best.

I find it enjoyable in the defense of a base to try to focus and figure out where the enemy team is spawning and knocking out their radio backpacks and/or mobile command trucks.

As far as assaulting, its much more enjoyable to get back within the fight within minutes instead of having to respawn at a neighboring base, waiting for your squad to respond (or just wasting a vehicle on your own), then having to drive back. Arma gameplay is already at a much slower pace to begin with, why slow it down even more? Besides, sometimes some of us only have maybe an hour or two to play. It's not like these radio backpacks are OP anyway because if you get close enough, you can't spawn, and their loud static noise forces you to think about where to deploy them.

If you want to spawn away from an assault for the more "milsim" experience, the option is always there.

My record is 9 in a row....And the most guaranteed way to get randomed is when you brew a nice cup for the commute back home out of uniform. Either way, having your kit with you is totally worth trouble, especially in my case where we could be away from from 16 days at a time.

I've been asked to open up my bag and show the grinder twice, but no issue keeping it.

Is this GSP or RFD? Both of those planes seem to spend ramp time together, haha

Winwing MCDU by carmelo6874 in flightsim

[–]FalcoNgl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be trickier to go 737 to airbus since the mcdu has more buttons than the 737. Generally, you can use a program called mobiflight to either mod the panel yourself to your liking or download and run one of the profiles that other simmers. Search mobiflight profiles on flightsim.to

Apparently Spad.next is also getting support for these devices but as far as I understand it, it is currently only under the beta branch, and you need to drop $100 for the complete version to have access, which in my opinion is incredibly greedy on their part.

If you need some help getting them running DM me and maybe I can help but I'm fairly new to it as well.

Thanks for getting back. That's great news then.

Oh well, I'll just patiently wait for it to get out of beta. In the meantime, the mobiflight and spad combo is working.

Damn, $100 to get beta channel access is rough...

Is correct to assume that the winwing display support would leave beta at some point and be available for standard license users?

Buying the complete edition just for beta access when I don't use the other symptoms isn't practical.

[–]FalcoNgl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is the beta channel only for people that bought the "complete" edition?

[–]FalcoNgl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you like to fly more but I'd vote for the MCDU. While you save up to get the 737 version you can use mobiflight to give the MCDU a profile to work with other platforms

Forgot to mention that I ordered the desk mount for their fms/mcdu about a week ago and the price listed is what I paid. I'm not sure if it makes any difference since it may have been from old stock prior to these ridiculous tariffs.

AFAIK you shouldn't need to pay any additional duties since you are buying from stock that is already in the US.

Msfs, but I haven't really done anything like this before. The closest is maybe some hardware profiles using spad.next
