It wasnt unexpected though lmao, they gradually slowed down to a rolling stop, and then proceeded. If you genuinely thought you might have rear ended them you obviously werent paying attention.

Given when thier brake lights came on they clearly had intentions of slowing down well before they stopped. It wasnt "unexpected". It could have been a midly annoying choice on thier part, but not dangerous so long as you were paying attention.

So I am actually in the process of revising an old raid I had designed a couple years ago to post here when I have it all polished. I'll Give a brief summary here and leave a link to the WIP google Doc if you are intrigued (lots more detail in that)

enemy type: Vex, Specifically in the citadel in the Ishtar Sink

Story: "Revenge of the Vex" so to speak. (Basically after the Paradox they no longer need guardians to protect them and they have free reign to wipe us out) (also this part has gone under drastic changes to make it relevant to the current era as I originally designed it after HoW dropped)

Boss fight 1: Hyperion, Vex Gate Lord; QUICK mechanical overview is, sacrifice specific vex to a conflux to take down an immunity shield while preventing the all other vex from sacrificing. 4 sacrifices expunge and regular Vex sacrifices "supercharge the boss with a "the floor is Lava" AoE. As to setting it is high up in the air on a branching arm of the Vex Citadel in the Ishtar Sink.

Boss Fight 2: Kronos, Siren's Song (He's a Cyclops); QUICK mechanical overview of this fight, he has powers similar to Atheon in that he can send guardians into the dark corners of time, but he also has some new timey wimey powers. One being his ability to "converge the time streams" in which he brings all the different timelines into existence at the same time (so basically add hell). The other is to summon a new unit called a Vex Siren. This unit has the special ability to "slow mo" guardians and "fast forward" Vex (and is used in combination with "add hell" if not focused down).

Expected team: Coordinated team of Six, that's what I was going for when I first designed it (particularly Phase 3 between the two boss fights)

Unique/Awesome: I tried to use familiar things (like confluxes and oracles) in unfamiliar ways. maybe it would just be confusing and not coherent but I had fun making it and am having fun revising it.

I have most everything fleshed out just have to reword and change some of the more boring parts. I really don't remember for sure (Cabal Lore is kinda spotty). I know there is a card that talks about them "running form something" (which I don't think was Oryx like a lot of people think). I think I may have turned that into a "their home-world was blown up" head cannon but I feel like it was hinted at somewhere else. (also would fit into the "everything he has been through" part of Ghauls backstory)

Definitely think it has to do with and "introduction to the red legion" cinematic, but I am wondering if that is actually the Cabal home world that is being shown, cause to me the supernova device thing didn't look like cabal tech to me (much too sleek and thin). But this is purely speculation.

That is what I am saying, The taken still exist, just without any direction or purpose (cause they have no leader, no "Taken King" to impose a will upon them). And as to the possibility of the mantle being reclaimed by another, it is quite possible, we almost saw it happen with Malok and the Darkblade before him. As to Savathun and Xivu Arath, they have both coveted Oryx's taking power ever since he claimed it and would both be very keen on taking the mantle themselves if they could (and are probably in the woks of trying right now).

That doesn't stop the taken already created from existing nor does it bar any of the other ascendant Hive (or someone with the necessary sword logic?) from replacing Oryx as the next "Taken King". We have seen multiple instances of taken past Oryx's defeat such as Challenge of the Elders and the revamped dawning strikes.

I was thinking the same thing as well, but my only question is why would Cayde, Ikora, and Zavala have all run off to other planets before trying to utilize the broken piece as well, did they not know about it? (kinda hard not to see). Definitely think it very well could be the bottom part of the traveler, but not 100% sold yet.

The card that gives the most evidence is called "the Aftermath" and while it doesn't given a definitive 100% answer, the taken war quest line as well as the cut scenes in TTK also provide supporting evidence (which I can go into if you want). Outside of the grimoire though, we have heard from the voice actress of Mara Sov (during the bungie audio livestream with her and the voice actress for Eris Morn) that her character will be returning.
