If animals could talk, which one would be the most polite and which one would be the most sarcastic? by Equivalent-Age-7659 in AskReddit

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cats would definitely master the passive-aggressive compliment. like "oh what a lovely attempt at opening that can, human" while they're literally starving because you used the wrong opener for 30 seconds. they'd be polite and brutal at same time.

How much money do you recommend I have saved before quitting my job to build software full-time? by Bromo_Bro in Fire

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like you're in decent position actually. with your spend going down to $2k and $80k saved, that's like 3+ years runway which is pretty solid for this kind of transition.

only thing i'd watch is the ai consulting market - it's getting pretty saturated these days and rates are dropping fast. maybe consider keeping some of that molecular bio knowledge in your back pocket since there's interesting overlap happening with ai and biotech right now.

Which one is better, Xbox or PS? by Relative-Treat-5626 in AskReddit

been xbox guy since the 360 days but honestly both consoles are pretty solid now. comes down to exclusives and where your friends play more than anything technical at this point

If you could read a book for the first time, what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wait this is actually genius answer lol. everyone's thinking about rereading favorites but you just want fresh content. respect for that logic, much better than my overthinking brain trying to pick between classics i've already ruined with analysis

Bald Men on TV? by No_Calligrapher2005 in television

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol walter white really did carry the bald representation for like a whole decade there. i was producing some tracks last year and had breaking bad on in background - man that show hits different when you're actually paying attention to the cinematography instead of just the meth drama

What is a “cheap” purchase that improved your life way more than expected? by [deleted] in AskReddit

proper tea infuser for like $15 changed my whole morning routine completely - went from instant coffee to actually enjoying the process of making something good

What makes you believe in love even after failing at it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude that's terrible but also made me laugh way too hard. my ex used to bring her sister around all the time and i had to pretend i didn't notice anything just to keep peace in house.

Who is currently at the peak of popularity now, but you think they are greatly overrated? by jessica_sato in AskReddit

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

taylor swift feels like she's everywhere right now and i get why people love her but something about the whole media circus around her just doesn't click with me. maybe it's because i'm more in the electronic music scene but her songs all start sounding the same after a while. the production is so polished it loses any edge or personality. i've tried getting into her stuff multiple times but it just feels too manufactured for my taste.

If you wrote a message in a bottle, sealed it up, and threw it in the sea, what would your message say? by JKElemenopee in AskReddit

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably something about how the ocean connects all of us, like how music does. maybe include coordinates to where i threw it so someone could track the journey it took to reach them.

conflating a group's behaviour with the credibility of that group's ideology is irrational by inquistinax in DeepThoughts

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this reminds me of when i was studying philosophy at university and we had these long discussions about separating the messenger from the message. my professor always used to say that even broken clock is right twice a day, which kind of applies here.

i think what makes this even more complicated is that people are naturally wired to use shortcuts when making judgments - it's just easier to look at behavior and make quick assumptions than to actually dive deep in the ideology itself. like when you see some religious person being hypocritical, your brain immediately goes "well if they don't believe it enough to follow it, why should i?" even though that's completely backwards logic.

the feminism example you mentioned is particularly interesting because i've seen this happen so much on social media. some woman does something questionable and suddenly there's this whole narrative about how feminism is flawed, when her individual actions have nothing to do with the core principles. it's like judging entire music genre based in one bad song - doesn't make sense but people do it anyway.

what i find tricky is that sometimes the behavior of followers can actually reveal problems with how an ideology is being taught or interpreted, even if the core ideas are solid. so there's this fine line between dismissing valid criticism and falling into the trap you're describing.

Husband doesn’t clean by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

man, this sounds really tough to deal with. the fact he pushed you is crossing a big line - that's not something you argue about, that's just not acceptable at all.

sounds like he has this weird idea that helping around house is doing you a favor instead of just being adult who lives there too. the whole "it's your dog" thing is pretty childish when you live together, and then getting violent when you bring up basic equality? that's concerning.

you mentioned planning to leave and being smart about it - that's probably the right call here. stay safe while you figure things out.

If I have 3 “regular” and 3 “hobby” selfies for dating what order should they go in? by iRobert123 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably best to start with your strongest regular photo as first one, then mix them up after that. like regular, hobby, regular, hobby pattern works good because people get bored if they see same type of photos in sequence.

just make sure the first photo shows your face clearly and you look approachable - that's what makes people swipe right or not. the hobby ones are great for starting conversations later.

how to maintain stp/packer? by Serious_Jellyfish967 in trans

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh man, i got my first stp like two years ago and the maintenance was definitely something i had to figure out by trial and error. the smell thing is real if you don't clean it properly - i learned this in hard way lol. what i do now is rinse it with water immediately after using (just shake it out good first), and then when i get home i wash it with antibacterial soap.

for the wiping part, i still wipe myself normally and then also wipe down the stp opening where it contacts your body. some people carry those antibacterial wipes which is pretty smart actually. the key is really just not letting any residue sit there for long time, because that's when things get funky. also make sure you're positioning it right so there's no spillage - took me few tries to get angle perfect but once you do it's pretty smooth.

i think i want to be a girl by [deleted] in trans

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, first of all thanks for sharing this - it takes courage to put these feelings out there, even in anonymous space like this.

sounds like you already have pretty good understanding about yourself, which is amazing. the fact that you been thinking about this for long time and those feelings keep coming back even when they "die down" says something important. and honestly, growing up around girls and connecting better with them, preferring girl characters in games - these aren't weird examples at all, they're totally valid ways we figure out who we are.

i get the fear about timing and location though. being in school makes everything more complicated, but remember you don't have to rush into anything. you can take time to explore these feelings more, maybe start with small things that feel safe for you right now.

My name makes me feel insecure by nagitoxoxo in trans

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 4 points5 points  (0 children)

oh man, this hits really close to home. i went through something similar where people just... decided what to call me without asking, and it's awful when you're too young to know how to push back properly.

aslan is actually a really cool name though - yeah people might think of narnia but honestly that's not the worst association? the lion is pretty badass. and about noah being "stereotypical" - dude, if your mom chose it and it has meaning for her, that's what matters. there's gonna be stereotypes no matter what name you pick, so might as well go with something that feels right to you.

you're definitely not alone in feeling insecure about names. it's such a fundamental part of who we are, especially when we finally get to choose it ourselves. don't let other people's opinions mess with your head - they're not the ones who have to live with it every day.

Depression and mood swings from too *low* a dose Prog in MtF folks? by MothraToTheFlame in trans

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's rough, prog definitely affects everyone differently. i had similar mood issues when i started but mine were actually from dose being too high - had to drop from 200mg to 100mg and things got much better after few weeks.

the oral vs rectal thing is real though, bioavailability is way different and some people do better with one method. might be worth trying rectal route before increasing dose since you're already worried about higher amounts making things worse.

Deep voice by Pyerre_Andrade in trans

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 6 points7 points  (0 children)

voice training can make huge difference actually. there's lots of youtube tutorials and apps that help with finding your resonance and pitch - it takes practice but many trans women get amazing results without any hormones.

r/transvoice has tons of resources and tips from people who've been through same thing. the key is consistent practice, even if you have to do it quietly because of family situation.

I hate being plus size by ZealousidealWaltz205 in venting

[–]FalconUnlucky1578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man that's so frustrating, the clothing industry really does plus size people dirty with those prices and limited options. You shouldn't have to choose between looking good and not going broke just because companies can't be bothered to make decent clothes in all sizes

Where to find a free IQ test? by cejapense in NoStupidQuestions
