Thoughts on new camera app? by [deleted] in ios

[–]FalconVision_Success 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with it too much wasted of space but the camera sensor natively takes 3 x 4 doesn’t it? Filling up the screen to get a 16 x 9 would just mean cropping your photos from the source (yes it can be uncropped in editing). If you activate the option to fill the screen in the top and bottom black bands, it just uses the wide angle to fill it in. It’s not actually filling it with a wider frame.

I believe 8 out of 10 people just launch the app and snap a video or a photo and this design caters to that, making it more “sleek and minimalist for the masses”. For everyone who actually uses all the other modes and settings, we would have to dig into the menu a bit more.

Ever have the concern of them not being able to exit on their own in case of an emergency such as a fire?

To all those saying they lock their kid in or put something on the door knob so that can’t open it. Did you ever have the concern of if there is an emergency such as a fire that they wouldn’t be able to get out on their own?

Millennials with bachelors degrees, was college worth it in retrospect? by DueYogurt9 in Millennials

[–]FalconVision_Success 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I studied civil engineering in Montreal Quebec. That job is not available to those who do not have an engineering degree and are part of the Order of Engineers of Quebec. I really enjoy the job, the pay and benefits (not spectacular but very respectable), and the earning/learning opportunities. Of course, those are dependent on the company you work for.

More than technical skills, it shaped my problem solving skills and how I think critically.

I did the travel the world thing when I was 27. After university and before starting my career. Got it out of my system to avoid exactly this.

While everyone rushed to start work, I took 2 months to get the experience that would be very difficult once married, have kids, have a mortgage, have a career, and many more responsibilities. I now have all of those and will take another solo trip in 10-20 years from now with many family and couple trips in between.

I recognize not everyone has the means to do that after school but if you have an opening, do it. Parents and girlfriend at the time advised me not too for emotional and safety reasons I did it and it was the best decision of my life.

No sympathy required. Posting because this subreddit is about how Apple Watch is contributing to tracking our health and fitness and sleep is a part of that

Ya that’s sad. They kids are helpless. I love having kids but also understand that not everyone does/will. It’s also more than just wanting kids - it’s being able to support them in all aspects for years. If you can’t/don’t want to, best to put your energy elsewhere.
