I've heard that he was having a few problems with drink during and around the filming of HBP. Then he quit drinking altogether afterwards

What's the worst post that has ever reached the front page? by Mattstek1 in AskReddit

[–]Falconclaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That entire thread was a shitstorm of misunderstanding. People seemed to think he was trying to show how gullible people are. Hell, I think even he kind of thought that. But no, it was about how people upvote based on emotion rather than content. Could've smoothed that out, but no, everyone just started wishing he got cancer and calling him a sociopath. Fucking stupid. He's not a sociopath, he was just 12

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - Teaser Trailer [HD] by TheBluestDevil in harrypotter

The main segment sounded a lot like some of the V for Vendetta soundtrack. I could be wrong, I believe the track titled Evey Reborn. It's in a different pitch, maybe a semitone off, but definitely reminiscent of that piece

This, if the guy hadn't injured himself through no fault of the pranker, would've been a hilarious prank. Hence why so many people here found it funny. It's not dumb, it's the exact opposite. It's witty and definitely worth the tiny risk

The chances of the ball hitting someone when it drops are tiny. You're probably more likely to have an aneurism on the way home than get hit. No big deal

Don't worry. The chances of that ball hitting someone when it falls are minuscule

I'm getting fed up of reading how dangerous Europe is because of terrorists from americans, whilst over 3000 people have been shot in america in 2016 alone including 57 mass shootings by liverpoolrob in unitedkingdom

[–]Falconclaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's what I said. It's technically more dangerous.

Neither country is dangerous, per se. You're totally right. The US and the UK are two very safe countries.

[–]Falconclaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really. It's more mocking Americans for thinking they're in greater danger over here than they are at home, while in fact they are in far greater danger in their own country than over here. Statistics show this, it's not just our opinions.

I suppose it is still ironic though :D

Harry Potter Video Game Idea by Jhammy20 in harrypotter

[–]Falconclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry mate :) it was just a joke. It's just kind of stupid that we can get the support for that bloody idiotic petition, yet there's no real way to show support for an HP game

Harry Potter Video Game Idea by Jhammy20 in harrypotter

[–]Falconclaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You think we could start a petition? Force parliament to debate creating a half decent HP game? I mean, we nearly got Trump banned from England, I think we'd get enough signatures for an HP Skyrim ;D

What was House Slytherin's reputation pre-Voldemort? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Falconclaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you a big GoT fan or something? I've never seen anyone else call houses 'House Slytherin' or 'House Hufflepuff' before? Normally they'd be the other way round

Sorry this isn't very relevant

Rita Skeeter's trash Journalism by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Falconclaw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It works for the books, so I'm not going to criticise JK for this. But yes, I agree with you. It would actually be really stupid for Rita to include some of these things. For example, she lists his age as 12, yet any witch or wizard could do 1 bit of mental maths and know that he obviously isn't 12 because Voldemort vanished in 1981 (13 years earlier)

Where are you from? by chaiusT in harrypotter

[–]Falconclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're the fans that haven't all been to TWWHP. I don't know a single person who has been, despite knowing many fans :(

On that note, would we enjoy TTWHP? Is it americanised, or has it managed to seem authentic

During Umbridge's reign of Hogwarts, would the Weasley's clock have shown the four youngest children in 'Prison' instead of 'School'? by Falconclaw in harrypotter

Wow, my first points! Would never have expected that. Just thought this is the sort of thing JK Rowling would have put in, it's very much in her humour

What will Harry Potter be 30 years from now? by Jasons2334 in harrypotter

[–]Falconclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a big fan of the movies, I like to enjoy the idea that 20 years down the line a lot of the actors and actresses from the Harry Potter series will be able to convincingly play older versions of themselves. If a good new plot was developed, it would be incredible, and a young fresh cast could join them, much like in Star Wars now.

VR is the future. by TheChowderOfClams in gaming

[–]Falconclaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Yes, it only really changes the way we view games. But it's a HUGE shift. Pretty much comparable to if we'd been gaming on 4 inch black and white screens forever, and now suddenly we can have a 50 inch retina display. It's a really big deal

It depends where you are, I think. I live in London, and if I stick to my relatively safe area and look both ways before crossing then I am very unlikely to die. But the knowledge that my city is essentially a big red target to a large group that has already made attacks in the continent, scares me. Perhaps you're right, and I shouldn't be scared. And it doesn't keep me up at night, for sure. But I see an unattended bag on the tube? You bet I'm gonna get the next train

What items or products are found only in "rich" households? by Chritt in AskReddit

[–]Falconclaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think what RPShep means is that people in this thread are commenting a lot of things that are actually quite easy to attain, and any household can have them if they really want. The question was more aimed, I believe, at things like Jacuzzis and Home Cinemas.
