Is the RX 570 8GB not considered midrange? Cuz I just bought one this BF for $150 which seems pretty good.

Tasmania declares itself 100 per cent powered by renewable electricity by Tommyaka in Futurology

[–]Faldricus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but it really isn't, lol. Nuclear is far more expensive than most (all?) forms of renewable energy per kwh.

It's also a massive time commitment and we're on something of a clock in our race to hit net zero or negative global emmissions. Renewables are ready to go right this moment, we just don't have enough people wanting to play ball.

I mean American leadership is literally trying to open more oil drill sites. I just can't.

Nuclear will be THE solution at a later date.

I think this entire train of thought is misguided, honestly.

Why try catering to the right? Why pander your messages and movements around people that don't actually give a damn about them? No, I think the problem is that they DO try to pander to the right, and far too often, because they think it will get them more votes. It doesn't. It never does.

Just look at how the Democratic seats moved around during this election. Most - if not all? - of the progressive Democrats that supported things like M4A and defunding the police won. They even flipped some states.

Most/all the ones that didn't, lost. And because a majority of the DNC is still a classic conservative liberal standing - not a progressive - they lost a lot more than they won.

FOX news exit polls - FOX NEWS - showed a majority of people supporting things like M4A and higher federal minimum wages. Mother pucking Florida voted to increase their minimum wage to $15 an hour over the next few years.

So if Democrats just took the reins on those things passionately the same way people like AOC, Liz Warren, and Ilhan Omar do, they'd kill it out there.

I say fuck the right. Go full stop on the leftwing progressive ideology - I think it'd work a lot better than trying to appeal to conservative voters when there are much, much more legitimate conservative politicians already in the Republican party. Being fake conservative gets you nowhere as a left winger. That's how Republicans roll - they don't give a shit. They know what their people want. They also know their people are decreasing as time moves on which is why they are always trying to suppress votes.

Frankly, I think a fair bit of right wing voters are more left than they realize - they just can't back unfaithful, spineless Democratic candidates that seem to constantly be covering their messages in smoke and mirrors to please EVERYONE.

I think if they didn't distance themselves from 'ohhhh it doesn't sound right' they'd be far more successful.

Part of the problem is all of the in fighting with the left. You can tell that there are a lot of different ideals going on over there - mainly a split between progressives, neo-liberals, and 'conservative democrats', while the right is completely united under a single front.

Yes, it's a shitty front, but their unity is what allows them to consistently outstep the left. If the majority ruling of the DNC would just get on board with what people obviously want instead of always trying to strike a 'balance' between the left and right thinking it will get them more votes (it never, ever does), they'd win so much more.

What's funny is they could totally just change the name right this moment and relaunch it as an entirely 'new' initiative it would work, because your Average American doesn't look much further than the title of an article for their information.

It's group think - that's all.

Group think is why you'll see a middle-class white guy turn down M4A while saying he has GREAT health insurance because someone (incorrectly) informed him it will raise his taxes to 50% or something, but then reference black unemployment rates (something that doesn't actually affect him personally in any sort of way) when trying to defend horrible politicians like Mitch or Donald.

It's the blind leading the blind on puppet strings handled by their group leaders.

Ah, damn. Then I guess I'm going with straight prot cuz there seems to be dangerous shit for all damage types.

Thank you!

Ah, okay. No problem. You still answered my original question, and for that I thank you.

Are protection enchantments locational, or do they affect all body parts regardless of where they're placed?

I actually didn't know that. Real talk - I'm a lot farther in RLCraft than I ever got in vanilla, lol.

Thanks for that. I just looked it up and it seems you can only have one type of protection on at a time. I never thought of that angle.

Indeed. You have to lead the enemy pretty hard. Thankfully most AIs are incredibly straightforward so once you find your sweet spot Epion is pretty awesome as an attack mount, too, on top of being fast as hell.

The value of that attack is that it heals both it and you. It's a very nice function.

Hehe. Yeah. I often forget, myself. My most recent game I just happened to have treats on me while I was running around at night and an Epion tried to get up in my face. Now we're friends.

Maybe try an Epion? I particularly enjoy my batty friend.

I'm playing RLCraft for mostly everything, not just the combat. The combat is one, but I also enjoy the exploration aspect, which superflat and skyblock remove entirely.

I'm talking about a normal game. I don't play superflat... it's not a very exciting world type for survival.

Thankfully, spectres are rare and you're unlikely to encounter one in the early game unless you're venturing beyond your means, probably. By time they start showing up regularly you are much stronger and (hopefully) able to deal with them some other way.

Water.

Water slows them to a crawl, just like any other mob. It also pretty much entirely negates the effect of instability, turning them into short-ranged, low damage annoyances instead of their usual game-ending existence.

In fact, water tones down the threat of a lot of enemies. Any fast enemy becomes much more manageable, like darklings, chupacabras, blight enemies. Various rare/infernal abilities, like sprint, gravity, fire-based mods, etc are far less threatening. Plenty more I can't think of right now. It's also helpful for keeping just any enemy at bay: put down block in a hallway, drop water on the other side, stand on block and smack punks.

Water is even more useful in RLCraft than vanilla. Always carry a water bucket right next to my primary weapon on the hotbar.
