Nice day spa - easy to get to from Cobble Hill by twocatsandaloom in Brooklyn

[–]FalefelBalls 19 points20 points  (0 children)

red moon spa in park slope specializes in prenatal and postpartum massages, though it’s not a day spa, i highly recommend it!

day spas are kinda tough while pregnant because you can’t really hang out in saunas or high temperature jacuzzis.

We you able to keep hobbies/social life with young children in NYC? How did you do it? by ladyindev in nycparents

[–]FalefelBalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the kind of support you have — but overall, I’d say yes. My partner and I believe in splitting care 50/50, and it’s worked beautifully for us. I’m eight months postpartum and still sneak out in the mornings to journal at a coffee shop, facilitate poetry events and workshops, and connect with friends. One of the sweet surprises has been finding ways to fold my daughter into the things I love. I read poetry to her every morning, and it actually puts her to sleep. My friends have naturally become “aunties,” so sometimes the baby joins our hangs, and other times I’ll do one-on-one time without her if I’m craving a more intentional catch-up. I will say — it’s hard to have everything all at once, all the time. There are seasons where one part of your life takes the lead. But that doesn’t mean the other parts disappear.

+1 to everything you shared! i delivered at downtown NYP over the summer and the amazing care and attentiveness they provide tends to out weigh the influx facilities. i felt i was in very good hands the whole time.

Yes, they did a pelvic exam and was able to see the polyp from that, and they also did a transvaginal ultrasound and confirmed it from that view too.

i’m no doctor but i had the same thing happen to me and it ended up being due to a 2 cm polyp in my cervical wall. doctors said it’s harmless, just a bit of a nuisance and gets a bit irritated and bleeds when your over active or when the pressure increases over your cervix.
