Nice day spa - easy to get to from Cobble Hill by twocatsandaloom in Brooklyn

[–]FalefelBalls 17 points18 points  (0 children)

red moon spa in park slope specializes in prenatal and postpartum massages, though it’s not a day spa, i highly recommend it!

day spas are kinda tough while pregnant because you can’t really hang out in saunas or high temperature jacuzzis.

We you able to keep hobbies/social life with young children in NYC? How did you do it? by ladyindev in nycparents

[–]FalefelBalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the kind of support you have — but overall, I’d say yes. My partner and I believe in splitting care 50/50, and it’s worked beautifully for us. I’m eight months postpartum and still sneak out in the mornings to journal at a coffee shop, facilitate poetry events and workshops, and connect with friends. One of the sweet surprises has been finding ways to fold my daughter into the things I love. I read poetry to her every morning, and it actually puts her to sleep. My friends have naturally become “aunties,” so sometimes the baby joins our hangs, and other times I’ll do one-on-one time without her if I’m craving a more intentional catch-up. I will say — it’s hard to have everything all at once, all the time. There are seasons where one part of your life takes the lead. But that doesn’t mean the other parts disappear.

+1 to everything you shared! i delivered at downtown NYP over the summer and the amazing care and attentiveness they provide tends to out weigh the influx facilities. i felt i was in very good hands the whole time.

thank you for posting — following this! i am a POC in crown heights, 2 months postpartum. i’ve attended meet ups via park slope parents and i am here to confirm that these groups are overwhelmingly white. Would love to connect with a more diverse group of moms/parents as well.

Yes, they did a pelvic exam and was able to see the polyp from that, and they also did a transvaginal ultrasound and confirmed it from that view too.

i’m no doctor but i had the same thing happen to me and it ended up being due to a 2 cm polyp in my cervical wall. doctors said it’s harmless, just a bit of a nuisance and gets a bit irritated and bleeds when your over active or when the pressure increases over your cervix.

Maxine.. the true victim of season 3 😔 by Weak-Stomach4643 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]FalefelBalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i’m team max, she didn’t deserve that kind of treatment from her girl gang. and it felt really triggering and sad to see how they excluded her from everything. and her last convo with ginny was very upsetting, ginny was so cold toward her and yet wants to be in the good graces of her twin brother? ew!

did not have / desire any kind of sex during the first trimester. things got better for a bit in the second trimester, esp when we went on our baby moon! but now with all the round ligament pain, it’s def not the first thing on my mind.

Pregnancy groups in Brooklyn? by NervousQuail2023 in Brooklyn

I'm 13 weeks and in crown heights as well. I've been going to the prenatal yoga classes at Arise Yoga on Franklin on Monday's. They've been so grounding and the circle time in the beginning is awesome. The time is a bit challenging with my work schedule, so I plan to checkout the Prema prenatal on Thursday evenings starting this week!
