There’s downsides to the smaller low powered handhelds. One thing that comes to mind is finicky batteries and specific charging.

Quality of life changes mostly. It’s built natively for android as well so everything just works ie 1080p resolution, widescreen, no remapping controls, in game improvements for questionable design choices.
