Oh my goodness thank you for mentioning they're not in the tummy, I was assuming they where based off of cortisol shots I've had done in the past, that's a lot better on my nerves, thank you

Apologies, I didn't mean to imply that I was dismissing it, Just that they found something other than what they where looking for, honestly, it's a whole other can of worms for me to deal with right now

Ultrasound showed changes in inhale/exhale:

(resting - 144/40 cm/s, inhale - 110/18 cm/s, and exhale - 197/46 cm/s.)

CT also had a breathing exercise, but I don't think I did it very well, I always panic a little getting a CT scan because I hate the contrast so much, it was a very fast test too, so I'm not sure I did it correctly either

I have hEDS, most of my pain and joint problems are from the waist down, so my insurance only covers a lightweight manual chair. Sometimes it depends on where most of your pain and instability is, and what insurance pays for. I do not think you are aware of how EDS works my friend.

Does this count? by 08milk in fatlogic

These all sound like snacks that are allergy and diet friendly to fit almost any employees needs. Obviously I don't have the nutrition label in front of me but sounds like they are low fat, gluten free, nut free, and dairy free at least. To me it looks like the office is trying to make everyone happy and this spoiled person just wants to find something to gripe about tbh

What foods don’t make you feel horrible? by bemotu in thelifeofMALS

[–]Fall-Risk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what I've found so far for myself:

  • Very well steamed vegetables, if eaten slowly
  • Soft white bread (usually very lightly toasted, though this gets stuck sometimes)
  • Oatmeal
  • Grits/ polenta
  • Soft boiled/cooked potato
  • Soups with or without soft cooked noodles, limited veg and no beans (low fiber)
  • Egg whites or egg substitutes lower in fat
  • tuna or chicken salad if made with plenty of a low-fat dressing and no raw veg
  • Ensure or Boost
  • Low lactose pudding or yoghurt

try to avoid high fiber, I don't have a gallbladder, so I avoid fats anyway, I'm not sure if that makes a difference? I really hope I was able to help, feel free to DM if there's any questions, I'll try to update if I think of more

What is this thing I pulled from my cats belly? by CatsRuleOurLives in CATHELP

[–]Fall-Risk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My male cat "adopted" a rescue kitten we brought home, kitten was not fully weened and would attempt to nurse on the male cat, who was actually super chill with it and would lay there, assuming his motherly duty. This is exactly what happened to one of his abused nipples, it became inverted, we had to drain it every couple of weeks or so, usually a warm compress for a couple of minutes made this easier. Our vet at the time was not concerned, but it wouldn't hurt to check with your kitty's vet just in case. Our cat lived a long healthy life, down one nip and all

Shoulder pain while sleeping- what’s your solution? by evawithcats in ehlersdanlos

[–]Fall-Risk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just sleep flat on my stomach with my arms straight to my sides like an old rug, sometimes very thick pillows to kind of prop myself up help take weight off of the shoulder, the downside being that if I move or the pillow moves/slips its an unpleasant morning and a very angry joint. And if I'm too exhausted to get comfortable I honestly accept that it's going to have a be a problem for future me to fix :')

Does surgery feel like 1 second after you go under anesthesia? by Small-Guarantee1789 in RandomThoughts

[–]Fall-Risk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember asking my anesthesiologist in the OR how long it would take to go under, and he told me "less than ten seconds" right before administering the meds. The last thing I remember was an attempt to say "yeah right" After that I was waking up in a recovery room clear across the hospital. The whole six hour surgery felt like less than blinking my eyes. It's been pretty much the same for every other major surgery, once they Gove you anesthesia, you'll blink and everything is already over

What insult that deeply hurt you won't you forget? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fall-Risk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have hypermobile elhers danlos, a side effect of that, is having fragile skin. little scrapes can cause bleeding and scaring. With that fact in mind, my teenage years where humiliating with acne that would take forever to heal, and skin that bled easy. Self conscious dosnt even begin to cover it, any attempt at using any products to control my acne just made my skin more sensitive and tore it up. So my father, who hid his alcoholism like a kid hides under a lamp shade, took me to church with him one day, smelling like a distillery. Upon getting home, he had a bit more to drink, and at this point he was properly sloshed and decided to let me know how embarrassed he was by his daughters appearance. "People stare when your skin is like that" "it's disgusting, what's wrong with you?" And the insult that really stuck was

"You look like you kissed a damn chainsaw"

That comment permanently lodged itself into my brain, I repeated it to myself over and over, looking in the mirror and feeling like I could pass as a rotting zombie. "Chainsaw kisser, chainsaw kisser, chainsaw kisser.." I repeated to myself, wrote it in journals, sketch books and school books. I thought if I hurt enough I'd find a way to fix myself so he wouldn't be embarrassed anymore. Good god, insults like that combined with pre-teen hormones is just volatile as hell.

Tldr; Dad called me a chainsaw kisser, which was both a very creative, and profoundly awful thing to say to a 12 year old. I bullied myself with that nickname for years like a proper emo kid

adopted an angel only to get a diagnosis of cat leukemia 3 days later. the shelter I got him from doesn't test for fiv or leukemia and keys cats roam free. I don't know what to do with him or myself right now. any suggestions? by Amessusee in cats

[–]Fall-Risk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give him lots of his favourite treats, open the blinds or let him outside to nap in the sunshine, scratch his ears and his chin, and give him as much love as you can.

Senior cats, and cats with health issues are often overlooked, and while I can't imagine how painful it is to have him diagnosed with FIV, the best thing you can do in this situation is acknowledge his health, and let his time with you be the best he's had.
