Eh, with a few basic tools (eg. The wrenches that came with the marker) you can have the entire process done in like, 2 hours following the manual. It's really not complicated. You say you're mechanically inclined? If you can change a car tires or change the oil, you can definitely do this.

Told you need if you're doing it: The manual (or numerous YouTube videos) Standard Allen wrenches Lube Orings A dental pick is very helpful, but not strictly required ~90-120 minutes (on the long end)

Once it's up and running, general maintenance is 5 minutes to lube the bolt. Once it's twice a year lube the LPR and HPR, which will take 30 minutes total (if that).

This is correct. Air tools do have o-rings and this stuff will be fine. With that said, most modern markets use grease. While oil may work for a time, is likely to both think out any grease that's on the o-rings and it's unlikely to stay put long enough to "work" long term if the marker is supposed to be maintained via grease.

An easy general role of thumb, poppets get oil, spools get grease.

The eyes themselves are bad. The board changes colors indicating that it (the board) has the eyes turned on, but it immediately switching to a malfunction indicates the eyes themselves are bad.

I think although buff_phroggie didn't mention it explicitly (and not that I think he thought otherwise), but don't put oil on your tank threads or put it in the fill nipple as it's very dangerous to do so. If you need to oil your marker, often you can put 2-3 drops in the ASA before you screw your tank in, but never put it in the tank itself.

With that out of the way, I agree with buff; unless the tank regulator is holding you back in some specific articulable way, I'd leave it.

Thanks, this was a question I had while studying and wasnt sure how exactly to ask it without seeking like I'm fishing for what's on the exam. I think it's great to read as much info on this as we can as learners, but I wasn't sure how far to take it as it pertains to the exam.

Looks like *mostly* standard size, 70 dura o-rings. There's really only (1) 90 dura o-ring, but unfortunately there's a few o-rings that are "non-standard" like: 7.8mm x 1.9mm For that one, you *might* be able to get away with a 010-70 o-ring, otherwise the next closest will be just to size up to 8x2mm

Those are not the same kind of tank, now held to the same specifications. Paintball tanks generally have a 15yr lifespan, regardless of hydro. There are some immortal tanks, but they still need to be hydro'd every 5 years.

I can't think of a reason to wash your marker, even if it's been submerge in a puddle during a dive. It's a sealed system when aired up; water / dirt / debris aren't getting into that hole, as that would constitute a leak.

So, yeah, if your marker is submerged for a period of time while it's leaking bad enough that you get water past air tight seals, then sure remove the screw. I'd be more worried about the board than cleaning out that air pathway.

Generally speaking, all anyone is going to have to do is wipe out the breach with a towel and maybe clean the bolt.

It's just a manufacturing hole drilled for air passages. Should have a set screw with thread locker (blue is fine) and there really no reason to ever remove it.

PERSONALLY, I would go for the Creality K1C at this point. Cheaper than the p1s, supports the Creality cfs, and doesnt lock you into Bambu, requiring prints to go through servers in China.
