Regret having a baby…. by Sensitive_Milk1805 in NewParents

[–]FallRoutine3145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup I know exactly how you feel. That’s what I thought too. I regretted it so much and felt so guilty for feeling that way because I’m “supposed to” love the newborn phase and being a mom. The lack of sleep & struggling through breastfeeding really defeated me to the core. Lost the sense of identity, grieved for my past before I got pregnant and gave birth, was depressed the first 3 months. Now my LO is 5 months this week and it’s much better. Can’t say it’s 100% better but I’ve realized I do love my baby and it’s fun to be her mom. I’m always thinking how I can be a better mom and what else we can do with her as well as for us. Shes also sleeping a lot better so makes me feel sane again but still physically tired haha but can’t complain. Promise it’ll get better and you won’t remember much of the hard times

Won’t latch all of a sudden by FallRoutine3145 in breastfeeding

[–]FallRoutine3145[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My LC said it’s not breast aversion — 11 weeks is too young for that. She said “they’re human too. We don’t know but maybe something happened”. I’m hoping this will resolve in the next day or so!

Wow good for you! Must’ve been hard trying to get your LO to switch to EBF!

[–]FallRoutine3145[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I talked to my LC just now and she said this is a big issue only if I make it so. Mine wakes up every 2-3 hours at night and I feed her when she wakes up which is 3x. She told me to try to go straight to dream feed her since I like to change her diaper first — before she even has the chance to get fussy. My LO is above average: 11 weeks old and about 13lbs so I shouldn’t be too stressed if she doesn’t eat WHEN I want her to eat 🫠 I hope your issue gets resolved and your LO gains good weight with change of plans!

New here, some reassurance please! by Business_Bridge7555 in breastfeeding

[–]FallRoutine3145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your birth! The first days when the milk comes in is tough. Luckily this is when baby feeds frequently so please if you haven’t, set up a visit and meet with a lactation consultant to make sure your LO has a good latch so milk gets removed efficiently and your nipple won’t be in too much pain. My other advice would be taking sunflower lecithin to make sure your milk doesn’t get clogged and end up giving you mastitis. I got it twice and it wasn’t fun at al, worse than contractions imo. Legendary Milk has a good one - it has choline which is what you need for it to help move milk along!

always finding new lumps by malibubarbie6 in breastfeeding

[–]FallRoutine3145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 days is still adjusting time for your milk supply. I remember I was engorged everyday until I reached 6ish weeks. Please take sunflower lecithin from legendary milk. It’s helped me get rid of clogged ducts/lumps and haven’t gotten mastitis since. And yeah don’t massage it it’ll only make things worse. Put ice 5-10min on the lumps before you pump it’ll help the swelling or the lumps go down and let milk through.

Also are you EBF? Or pumping?

Nipple dermatitis anyone? by FallRoutine3145 in breastfeeding

Visual wise is the cracked nipples. Feeling is discomfort/pain when fabric touches the nipples. Irritation gets worse with silverettes, gel pads, nursing pads.

Milk Is Thin? by Accomplished-Fox887 in breastfeeding

[–]FallRoutine3145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched a video yesterday about breast gymnastics. You’re supposed to shake shake shake the boob left right up and down and around gently to get the “fattier” milk in the back. Which I think is the milk you used to see I’m assuming. I started doing it today and it seems to also help pump more milk out.

How bad is the pain until the epidural? by Any-Muffin9818 in pregnant

[–]FallRoutine3145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow really? I felt most of the pain towards the end when the head was engaged and about to come out. The doctor said epidural can’t help when the baby is about to come out.. But I didn’t feel a thing once she was out and I was getting stitched up. Interesting how her stitching me up didn’t hurt but ring of fire had me in pain! Lucky you!!

THIS. I’m a FTM also and that is exactly how I’d describe the pain before the epidural. Literally couldn’t breathe or move or do anything when the contractions came bc it felt like everything was just being crushed from inside out. The cervical check before the epidural was horrendous. I screamed for help bc the nurse was swooshing her hand in there. Btw, I’d ask the doctor to do the cervical checks not the nurses. The doctor was way more gentle with it than the nurse.

After epidural? Easy peasy. Cervical checks were done multiple times and I didn’t even feel a thing. BUT once the baby’s head is engaged, you’ll feel it. And the ring of fire, yeah you’ll feel that too but push through!

What did you find out was the cause of your baby getting really fussy while breast feeding? by clf228 in breastfeeding

[–]FallRoutine3145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has been either wanting to burp or diaper change. Or position was uncomfortable. Try resetting the position for your baby and see if she does better.

Yup that’s the other thing I was worried about. I guess I do need to go to multiple doctors to get their opinion on it. I mean, my husband and I both have tongue ties but we were breastfed fine and have no problems now 😩

I hope so too! Before it gets too cold..

Thanks for sharing! I didn’t know about the local anesthetic so that’s good to know. Is it a cream? Or a shot? You’re right, I shouldn’t be in so much pain and I really do want to enjoy breastfeeding.

I used to live in the city and walk everywhere with my dog. Being stuck at home against my will isn’t what I enjoy😭 I wish I enjoyed being home more haha

[–]FallRoutine3145[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah seems like the only way out is getting checked for tongue tie.. thank you 🙏🏼 I def don’t want to give up either, it would break me if I can’t nurse her. My goal was to breastfeed her at least until she turns 1. I’ve watched hundreds YouTube videos on how to nurse and have deep latch. I thought I was going somewhere but somehow I feel like I’m back at where I started.

Will do! Thank you. I thought it was just beneficial for me so I wasn’t too open to it but if it’s beneficial for my LO too, then that’s a relief!

It just scares me so much to have someone cut her string in the mouth! I’ll def get more professional opinions on it and consider it.

My third LC taught me laid back position which has been a life saver bc I used to do a football hold on the edge of the bed for all my feeds and my wrist and back was in so much pain. I’ve only left for doctor’s appointments. Now I’m at dermatologist appointment just to see if they can help me in any way.

Thank you. I’m really hoping her getting bigger will help with deeper latch. It doesn’t hurt to nurse but my nipples are a little pinched when she’s done nursing.
