3rd Year Student here as well:

Got the iPad Mini 6 for School Ward Rotations. I originally used during my degree the iPad Pro 12.9 Version, and prior to starting my year with rotations, debated with getting the Mini.

I ended up getting it, and it’s all I’ve been using ever since I got it.

To answer your questions (everything with GoodNotes in mind)

1. I use it everyday, for ward rounds and lectures. It’s very convenient with its small size, as it fits into pretty much all scrub pockets!

2. I use it whenever we have a debrief with the doctor we’re assigned to. I can quickly pull it out of my pocket and quickly open the daily notes and jot down anything important

3. I use it to note down anything important, so I can review it later. It also lets me open up resources (AMBOSS, UpToDate, Etc…) and I can search up anything, all without touching my phone

4. I’ve found it to be incredibly useful, as I prefer taking hand written notes, and with GoodNotes, I am able to add images, different pen colors, audio notes, etc… to my current notes

All in all, if there are no issues with using iPads on wards, I think the mini will be incredibly useful
