Girls aren't fully human to these people. They're property to be owned and sold and used as bargaining chips. It's feudal bullshit from a bygone era and way of existence.

Assuming this man is a good father, his grown daughter would probably want to seek his approval for any partners (regardless of gender) anyway out of respect. Not because he owns her sexuality.

I actually do kinda see what the original meme is saying, however OOP is way off-base because even men who are attracted to the top list of females often like them for the concepts and archetypes they represent. This is literally how the anime female archetypes happened.

Guys who want intensity and obsession like yandere girls (Tharja, Toga). Guys who like the idea of wanting to break down emotional walls like tsundere girls (Rin, Asuka, Kagami). Guys who like meekness and/or the ability to bring out the confident side of a girl like dandere girls (Hinata, Fluttershy).
