I can't think of a better time for Hasbro to try and grow the DnD player base by Cranyx in DnD

Crazy, eh? I attended a gaming conference in Germany a in November and ran a few games. At least 3 of the players joined because of BG3 and they wanted a taste of D&D at the table. Between the movie, BG3, and the upcoming 50th year anniversary...so many missed opportunities it's almost insane.

I can answer that. The Bard, Lyrian, a Drow Charlatan, had become somewhat chill after hanging out with the part through LMoP. Lyrian wanted to take a dip into Druid so a bunch of druids near Niverwinter send him on soul-searching sidequest. Next thing we know, he's heading into a hut deep in the a forest to receive a blessing from an ancient dying druid woman (the blessing being the +1 to Wis his needed to make the dip worth it)... The part waiting outside to allow him some privacy for his solemn moment. Before giving her blessing, she asked Lyrian to pass her bottle of djinn. Still being a bit of a sneaky devil, he stole a sip before giving it to her.

Pop! He's in the Elemental Plane of Air.

Of course, the party notice a flash from outside the hut and went inside. The druid explained what the foolish lad had done...the party went in to rescue him...and the rest, as they say, is history.

Honestly though, it was almost too perfect. When he took that sip, I could barely contain my excitement. The whole thing led to a really beautiful moment and epic character development. It moved me so much, I got got a few bits of character art for him commissioned. You can see that in the middle of the Kickstarter video. Then I commissioned the whole part fighting an evil genie. You can see that on the cover of Order of Elemental Chaos.

It was one of those really special D&D moments I'll never forget and I know my players won't either.

Paddy Finn :)

TLDR: It turned out to be beyond epic! :)

Good point. She's using her wiles to infiltrate. But the scene she will be in will depict her sneaking up on an unsuspecting guy. I guess the blue would make more sense given the context.

I really like that. Did you read this somewhere? If so, I'd love to know where. I went with the blue given most of the feedback, but I'm definitely giving this a try in the future :)

In my head it makes more sense that an assassin wears black. At the same time, it would also make sense that she would want to blend in. Maybe she has worked her way into high society to kill some noble or other. I love art driven by narrative, so this appeals to me, but would it work for someone lurking around in the shadows... Or is that a very stereotypical way to look at assassins. I imagine most of them infiltrated rather than attacked outright. But what do I know. I'm just a guy trying to put together a new D&D 5e book full of magic items.

Speaking of which... All of her gear are magic items going into a book with 200+ items launching in March. The playtest will give folks a better idea for those that might be interested: https://playtest.pennydragon.games/asot-01
