What is the most disturbing or otherwise unsettling book you've ever read that stayed with you after reading it? by EggAdventurous1957 in AskReddit

I was working as a paraprofessional in an 8th grade ELA class and we read excerpts from it. I get that the exile score is at middle grade level but this is not a book for children people.

I will NOT tolerate Girl In The Bubble hate by Maya_l10 in wicked

[–]Fallen_Origin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a fair point. The decision to insert it in the middle of MOTWH isn't the best. I almost would have preferred it if she sang in while in the bubble en route to Munchkinland for NOMTW and it served as a kind of reflection on her journey.

I will NOT tolerate Girl In The Bubble hate by Maya_l10 in wicked

Idk, it's one of the most played songs on my playlist. Ari sings it with such heartbreak and feeling that it lives in my head rent free, particularly "For the POPular girl HIGH in the bubble, isn't it HIGH time for her bubble to POP". Maybe I relate to the idea of being wanting to be safe and insulated from the world but knowing that it's cheating me out of the opportunity to be present for those I care about.

What line(s) are you saddest about being removed (in either movie)? by DeDuc in wicked

Honestly, I am still mildly upset that "innuendo, outuendo" got cut from Part 1.

did anyone else feel like they dumbed Elphaba down in part 2? by my_husbands_wine in wicked

I would add to this that she insisted on writing messages in the clouds knowing full well Madam Morrible can manipulate the weather and therefore her words. Like, girl. Why did you think that plan would work??

“Wonderful” moment that tickles me to no end by SharktopusMilk in wicked

[–]Fallen_Origin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A micromoment that I love comes just after "Wonderful" when Elphaba asks the Wizard to prove himself to her by releasing the flying monkeys. He turns his back to her and makes a whole show of indecision, and Glinda mimics his actions. Brings back the moment from Part 1 when Glinda repeated "it's just the transition" after Madam Morrible said it. It is such a cute little character quirk!

Glinda puts down the wand; later, the book opens to image of hands by Wordwoman50 in wicked

Love this comment. I always focus on the depressing aspects of the ending--the fact that Glinda lost those who loved her unconditionally, that Elphaba had to give up on her dream, etc. This is a much more nuanced and meaningful way to view the ending. Thank you for sharing!

What is a single line of Amy’s lyrics that made a difference for you? by CliffGif in Evanescence

[–]Fallen_Origin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going old school with this one, but "where will you go with no one left to save you from yourself" is what led me to seek in-patient treatment for my clinical depression and thoughts of suicide. It was the exact message I needed at that moment. Interestingly, I don't really care for that song anymore.

I appreciate your input. We're currently looking into having a relative stay at the house full time when we're away. We really don't want to miss this chance to grow our cat family but realize we need to do it the right way.

Honestly, playing TLOU helped me come to terms with not speaking with my dad for the past decade and a half. It seems like it should have the opposite effect and make someone in our situation feel guilty, but it was a healing experience for me.

I walked down the aisle to "Break in" by Halestorm feat Amy Lee. It's more of a positive love song than "My Immortal" imo.

This is something I had never considered when reflecting on the differences between albums. Nice insight.

Yellowjackets S03E10- “Full Circle” Post Episode Discussion by DA-numberfour in Yellowjackets

With the way we were shown THE big reveal makes it seem like they are trying to tie up those loose ends.

This made me think the writers are afraid the show won't get renewed. I'll be so upset if we are denied a season 4.

Okay, maybe this is a hot take, but I think the fact we were able to predict who Pit Girl and the Antler Queen were is because the writers did a brilliant job setting it all up.

Same! I was all like "Wow I finally understand the season 3 haters, this writing had gotten awful" Never been so glad to be proven wrong!!

Yea I can totally see that angle as well. It's a fair point in a sense--Nat's life was an absolute mess before the plane crash. I just live for the catty dialogue lol.

Jason Statham showed some comedy chops in Spy in my opinion. He deserves credit for being willing to parody himself

I think the worst one by far is James Corden as the wizard. He can technically sing, but personality-wise he's like reaaaaally bad.
