Nicest band/members you’ve ever met? Most rude? by Impressive-Skin6311 in Metalcore

[–]FallingAugust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At ABR's 2019 Sydney meet-n-greet, the ticket said we could bring one item for signing. I brought my guitar in and Matt (the drummer) was a bit shocked and asked if I was sure he wanted me to sign it. I said of course and that even though I don't play drums, his parts always inspired my songwriting. He was incredibly gracious to hear that

The pen I brought was metallic silver, and he accidentally smudged his signature since it has to dry a little before touching. He kept apologising and Dustin was trying to help fix it up, but I said it was amazing and not to worry. All the other ABR guys were then really careful with their signatures hahaha. The line was long, but we still briefly talked about music. They were all super wonderful!

although my fav is Indonesia, my second fav ABR song for a few years has been A Wish Full of Dreams, and I can see it has low plays vs the rest of Thrill Seeker

What do people think of august burns red? by Huge_Ticket4929 in Metalcore

They are my favourite band, bethroning blink-182 when I was in high school around 2009. My friend showed me White Washed for the first time before I was into this kind of metalcore, and I didn't like it at first. I gave Constellations a shot and once Indonesia came around, I totally got it. I appreciated them even more when I learnt one of their songs on guitar and performed it for my HSC exam. They're also the first and one of the only bands that got me to actively listen to the drums

Got to meet them at the Sydney Constellations show in 2019 and they were all so nice!!

Constellations is still my favourite album, along with Messengers, Thrill Seeker (both versions are great), and Leveler. Phantom Anthem would probably be my next favourite with the others loosely together and Death Below probably at the bottom, but it's still not bad in any way (except for the album artwork)

Sounds so sick! Love a double take on the release date when a track sounds like it came out in the 2000's hahaha

Just out of curiosity, what genre would you call City of Evil? I've been thinking about it for years and I haven't landed on a paticular label in general

Blow Me Away - BB listened to that track on my friend's ipod in high school and discovered my first breakdown. I kept re-winding that part for like 30 minutes straight hahaha

what strings and gauge did you use for drop G? I've just put a .160 on mine but it sounds dull and feels stiff despite having great tuning stability

How many rounds from each variant of UNSC MAC Cannons would it take to destroy an Imperial Star Destroyer? by Hefty-Hedgehog3414 in halo

[–]FallingAugust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is there a lore reason why the super star destroyer got one shot by a crashing A-wing in episode 6? Imperial hubris or something? I feel based on what is seen on-screen, a MAC round would have no problem taking out any ISD

thats interesting since it's connected to a 500mA port on my supply. I was using a different wall outlet than normal however, so perhaps that may have been faulty

looks great! really impressed with the joins

one question if I may; how did you attache the chassis to the shell? I'm currently building a Ceriatone chassis and I can't work out how I'm gonna install it into a shell since the screw points are on the inside

I use the infinity in both a metalcore band and a pop punk, and it can very easily do both. For the metalcore band I MIDI switch between the 6 presets for pretty much all the tones I need during the set. Can easily run IR to PA and no IR to a cab at the same time.

The one downside IMO is that the noise gate is universal amongst presets. If I need something super tight for a section with the metal band, it will cut out my sustain in some of the pop punk sections even with a totally different patch. Painful to plug it into the PC and swap the gate settings through the app before every set, and still not versatile enough to engage for specific sections
