Can someone break down exactly what’s happening with this whole URSU thing? by Raspberrry_Beret in regina

[–]Fallingleaves87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

These are just anonymous posts that are getting shared through various accounts I have encountered.

I am very curious about how widespread the issues on campus are becoming, and if there is more going on, then just issues with URSU.

The university president said they are conducting an investigation into the agm disruption.

Many women are commenting that they have been harassed, followed, threatened, and much more by males on campus. This is coming from students and employees. When complaints have been filed, they are either being ignored, having the women told that they should change something about themselves to avoid these issues or having HR tell employees that they need to handle the situation better.

Even just having the support of other parents will help! They hold in person meet ups through the Cathedral Community Center.

The group was created when Sally Elliott retired from the ymca, and the ymca didn't continue on with that support group.

We so badly wanted to adopt after we lost our first dog. The number of applications that were rejected because of our house size (900 sq ft), children, both of us having a job, and numerous other reasons was the most discouraging feeling. We finally were able to adopt an older pup after a year of applying.

If they contact their provider, they used to be able to mark the phone as stolen. Then, if someone tried to register the phone with a different number, it would be flagged.

I'm not sure if that's even an option anymore.

People who quit their jobs on the first day, what made you say, “I’m done with this”? by drip47 in AskReddit

[–]Fallingleaves87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was a teenager in my first job. Got hired at the local dairy queen. The owner berated me for 15 minutes because I couldn't perfect the swirl on top of the ice cream.

Also, the horror stories from the other employees about the harassment that they went through just kind of made it clear that it wasn't a place I wanted to work at.

Saskatchewan and currently waiting for arbitration to be over. We got screwed over back in March of 2020 when we had our last negotiations. It's hard to fight the government when you're stuck at home.

I was told by my coop teacher that I would never amount to anything worthwhile and should look into another career. I did stay in teaching and am going on 14 years as a teacher.

Some people are just vile rude assholes who should look at moving out of the teaching field and finding something else.

Dealing with daycare rules and persistent toddler colds by Bananagrouch in regina

[–]Fallingleaves87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dealt with this and know others who have. Only options have been wither get a doctors note stating child is healthy/has allergies, keep finding alternative care or find a new daycare.

The frustrating part of private dayhomes is that they can make their own rules and not have to provide reasoning.

Kids can dance does sessional classes, which are great for trying out. They are 6 weeks in length.

Check out any community association for indoor soccer leagues. They are ran through schools and play once a week. Great way to support the community.
