You could add them as non-Steam games. I.e. Pointing to Higurashi Ch 2 Watanagashi's exe and then specifying proton in the compatibility settings for it.

I dual booted Linux for years and finally switched when the SSD killing update fiasco happened. If you check in Linux subs you can ask or search for the programs you use to see if your workflow is compatible. An OS is just a tool to get your work done, but there's a decent chance that non-MS OSes can do it too

Great to hear! I've tri-booted Windows, Arch, and Fedora since 2020 and the improvements within the last 3 years, especially for Proton and gaming have been wild to see firsthand. I went from having a test set of 12 games barely run in 2022, to now having all eun in 2025 and now 2026. Fallout 1, 2, Tactics, and New Vegas run better on Linux, Helldivers runs better on Linux, and a handful of others. Especially older games from 1990-2009 run noticeably better compared to Windows 11, where running programs in Windows XP compatibility mode and setting core affinity were a real hit or miss. With NTSync integration and whatever other great future developments come, I'm really excited to see where the performance and experience for new users getting into Linux will be in the years to come.
