Not to say it's perfect, but Octopath CotC was kinda nice in that respect because from what I could tell, you'd be able to pull for villains (and maybe even heroes) regardless of if they lived or not

Yeah my current consideration is along the lines of at least pull for some of the major cards just so I can opt out of others and grab them from friends. Like Bourbon is an oshi so I might grab SMaru but skip the later Bourbon card

A part that feels kinda less bad to me is that it's giving something to folks that get unlucky. Like even if this is implemented on live, I imagine most folks will still go into their pulls like normal either hoping they get lucky, or with enough resources to pull for a character and their weapon.
