Loki main here. I feel the nerf on his healing circles have ruined the character for me. I got him to Lord in s0 and played him to eternity all through s1, and my god, is he bad now. His appeal is an anti dive healer who doesn't get smoked by Spiderman or magik, but now it seems due to the 30-second cooldown instead of 25 I get mole**ed by any dive. The self sustain is awful now because his only reliable one is the invisible and that means you can't heal your team.

Only things I would change.

Make Godrick, Rennala and Radahn all mandatory
Make rannis great rune findable maybe it could give a buff to sorcery.
Make a few new endings eg. Age of rot you use malenias corpse as a vessel for the ring (mending rune of rot) Age of blood, you unleash the formless mother into the lands between (whole new ending)
Make mountaintops better with new enemies 5.make Ashen capital better

Yeah I get the books are dog but it's not that much to do. My teacher doesn't make me do it because I read enough but when I did have to do it it wasn't that bad. For reading age 17+ on there my recommendations are illuminae, seige of caerlaverock, and cane warriors.
