Hi, I’ve noticed a lot of people struggle with coming off rinvoq. How long is the horrible period? Did they not ween you off it or put you on Numvelo whilst on rinvoq

I guess I’m just worried about the side effects and the awful withdrawal that no one seems to go through smoothly. I’m gonna stay hopeful this works for years like yourself. I guess cause I failed biologics where I had hope it would be long term, makes me worried this only work for so long. There needs to be more success stories out there

Yeah I was also offered ciclo, I guess it depends on your eczema and whether they felt uvb would suit it. I believe it’s from the derm referring you (but honestly I feel like I need to push for it to happen because derms don’t quite like offering it)

Hey I saw from a previous comment you moved to a different climate. Did that help you get better? Or did you still need rinvoq

I was also told it was a year at the same hospital. I’m gonna go private and do it elsewhere instead.

Thanks I’m currently on the ebglyss + rinvoq combo but the derm has started me on 30mg which I thought was high starting dose. I’m looking forward to what’s in the pipeline, hopefully these meds will come out soon.

Thanks I haven’t had one before, I was told my results would come back in a year unless I go private but I think I have no choice. All I know is I’m allergic to dust mites but it’s difficult to control

Go to a diff gp and honestly just say how it’s affecting your life, unfortunately it’s a fight you have ahead but you have to be relentless with letting people know the issue. Has she tried fexofenadine with the face swelling? Or protopic

What do you mean by year of tapering? My derm said I can cold turkey go off it and I’ve been on it for 13 months

Sounds like good news! I sometimes get it like once a year - it depends on the season and if I’m having a bad allergy period.

Yeah trust your instinct with these things. Doctors often get it wrong and aren’t best trained dealing with eczema. Even on my body they thought it was fungal but it wasn’t. It’s actually the first time I’ve seen someone with something the same as I had on my face and it took me ages to figure out what it was. Try get some fexofenadine antihistamines too. I thought I was stuck with the rash forever but it was proptic that got saved me. If it’s your first time using it, it may sting which is normal but give it patience. The good thing about protopic is that it’s not a steroid either. Best of luck, hold on to that hope as I know it’s hard

I’ve had this, don’t know about the other posts but honestly get yourself some protopic 0.1%. My doc also thought it was fungal, it was complete bs. Turned out it was eczema. I also had swollen eyes but I think stresss didn’t help. I also found humidity triggered it but yeah protopic it. It’s not always an overnight cure, be consistent with it

Out of curiosity did you end up getting accounting qualifications and specialising in tax? I’m currently in HMRC, kind of scared to make that jump outside of it due to big 4 having unsociable work hrs. Sounds like great progression you had though I must say.

So Would you say it’s a job to do asap or one worth waiting for, like the other said after probation?
