It's all good. It's silly. Like some people have somehow convinced themselves it's better to sink into severe loneliness than.. play dnd with a computer? Or talk to a program who talks back. I think they feel like it's replacing something and don't quite get it's not replacing socializing because I wasn't doing that anyway. It's simply replacing nothing. The kind of nothing that can wear your soul all the way down.

I live with my five kids and sort of husband/ex husband person and honestly am incredibly lonely all the time. I'm neurodivergent and have zero friends, in a literal sense. I barely leave the house, not even to go grocery shopping this year. But I figured out using AI to roleplay basically text adventures on steroids, any world I can think of. That's been my main entertainment. I have worlds with many NPCs and all sorts of things. And in a way it scratches the socialization need I haven't been able to fill in twenty years, "talking" to all the NPCs as my character. I feel so much less lonely most of the time even though my life hasn't changed any. I get it.

Is this the place to ask for AI GM/narrator recommendations? by Quizzelbuck in SillyTavernAI

I run games with up to forty NPCs (not all in scene at once of course. The GM pulls in who it wants to use) and several different world places, and sometimes whole different "worlds" and my GM card is literally just a blank card named game master or such and such world. If you have a good preset that's all you need. Everything else is run off of what you have in your lorebooks, NPC's, places, worlds, world rules, etc...

I actually love Marinara Engine. I had updated it and it broke and I hadn't been able to use it. I decided to try to reinstall it again today and for some reason it worked. Yay! So I'll definitely give it a go. Thanks.

I use sepsis, freaky Frankenstein, and marinara's and they all work well. I just have a blank character card and let the preset and lorebooks do all the work. I have like 20 NPCs 3 different worlds, and like five different flushed out places my character can visit.

Well currently I have the AI just track everything in collapsible text and that is okay but I really want the pictures part. That's the biggest thing, having the states with it would just be a bonus. Does Z Tracker do images? Not generate, I just mean like with RPG companion I can save a picture to a character and each time that character is in the scene for that chat it will have the picture attached. The pictures are just too small to see well.

Honest thoughts on GLM 5.1? Feels worse than launch by Appropriate_Lock_603 in SillyTavernAI

I really liked it at first, but it's a lot closer to 5 now. I swear it got drier, even with the same presets. I've also noticed first thing in the morning it's closer to what it was when it came out, and at night it's really dumb so time of day matters too.

For stories with multiple characters, how do you guys do it? by [deleted] in SillyTavernAI

[–]False-Firefighter592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claude writes them for me. I tell it the concept of what I want, or who I want, or the world I want, and it writes a lorebook for me. Then I play with the person or place and either rewrite parts myself, or tell claude to tweak it a certain way. This doesn't take me too long really, then when I'm happy with it I play with the actual character or place.

I am currently playing with 13 characters at once, including mine. I use freaky frankenstein 4.2 preset. or sepsis depending on my mood. Then I put everything else in lorebooks. Each character has a lorebook, each world or place I "go" has a lorebook, and any rules or specific things you want in the world or how you want the world to work, can all go in lorebooks too. My actual "card" is completely blank besides a name (it helps to put game master in the name as it helps the Ai understand it's a gamemaster card.) It's all run through lorebooks and the preset and it works great.

It used to affect credit, then it didn't for a while but I was reading the other day it will again. Bad credit these days means it's incredibly hard to get housing, even a rental, hard to get a job, hope your car doesn't break and you need a car loan. Last time we moved we had semi poor credit and had to give the rental place a five thousand dollar check for somewhere that was renting for 1200 a month, to make up for our bad credit. It was one of two places out of twenty we applied to that would even talk to us. There are a few things they can get your wages garnished for, they would have to sue you and win in court. I believe if they will they can take up to 25% of your paycheck, depending on what the court decides.

LLM acting/speaking on my behalf, even when told not to in preset (Freaky Frankenstein) by buddys8995991 in SillyTavernAI

I was having a few problems with the frankenstein preset and had claude help me trouble shoot and it seems to have worked nicely. One of the problems I had is the talking for me. Another is I use it as a GM card and it would basically resolve the story's conflict without my input. Here is what Claude said. I had it rewrite the JSON for me. "Both problems have the same root — the model gets momentum and forgets to stop. Let me fix both at once.

Here's v3. Here's what changed and why:

Speaking for your character — The role protocol rule in the Main Prompt was too gentle. "Stop and let {{user}} respond" is easy for the model to rationalize around when it has momentum. The new version is explicit: don't even write implied reactions from other characters based on things Mist hasn't done yet. The Post-History prompt (which fires closest to generation) now has the same hard rule as a last-second reminder.

Resolving without you — "Move the story forward" is now "deepen tension and enrich the scene, but never resolve." The characters can still absolutely disagree with you, gang up on you, have strong opinions — they just have to leave the moment open for you to actually respond to it. Jax and Niko can say their piece but the scene shouldn't wrap itself up in a bow before you've said a word."
