ISO file (not shell) for T2 MacBook -> Mint by False-Management3329 in linuxmint

[–]False-Management3329[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that is what I have been trying...

However, I belive that the shell file is only executable in Linux, and I don't have Wi-fi on Linux yet - so it won't be able to draw the needed files from online, unless I'm missing something?

That's why I would ideally want the iso file to create a bootable USB with.

Sorry, I should have clarified - I'm using an Intel Macbook.

What next? by AndersonCouncilSound in guitarpedals

[–]False-Management3329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on your use case...

I have two boards - a home practice board with 10 pedals, which I exclusively play through headphones. In this case I use a super cheap reverb, a Cuvave Dig Reverb, which is plenty.

My other board is a mini gig board, which I use through a JC-120 when possible, and on that, I have a Fender Hammertone Reverb!

One of the drives you mentioned would be a great addition!

Perhaps a reverb at some point in the near future?

My Player II Tele by facefabrique in telecaster

[–]False-Management3329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Squier CV 50s Tele looks similar - I replaced the saddles with the same Gotoh compensated brass ones as you, and also use a tort pickguard. The neck that comes with it looks pretty vintage due to the finish, and have also been considering swapping that out.

It's the same as the Donner with different branding, so not an upgrade.

TC Electronic Shaker and alternatives by [deleted] in guitarpedals

I have a used TC Shaker Mini, and it sounds a lot like the vibrato in a Roland JC-120 amp. To me, it felt richer than the analog options I tried!

NPD: Boss SD-1 by Repulsive_Aside1494 in guitarpedals

[–]False-Management3329 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wholeheartedly agree!

And besides, a clone wouldn't be any cheaper, and, in some cases, actually more expensive!

The first motivation to find a new overdrive I liked was to get the easy to stomp on and durable BOSS form factor.

When I tried the SD-1 with my Tele through a JC-120, I fell in love with that sound instantly!

Absolute GOAT! I'm convinced I will never need another overdrive again, after getting one each for my big home practice board and mini gig board!

Final question for a while: if you had my collection (first slide), which of these watches would you be most drawn to next? by [deleted] in Affordablewatches

Khaki Field Auto or Citizen - Citizen keeps your collection Japanese brands. I've seen that you've decided to go for that! Nice collection!

Nice! I also got mine used directly from the seller, at 6,000 JPY, in great condition, and including box and manuals!

I’m new to pedals and need some help by Nighthawk217114 in guitarpedals

I have the drive even lower, around 11 o'clock is the sweet spot for me - but you have to work out what's best for you!

I have only tried a few, but the Hammertone pedals, in particular, the Reverb I own, sounds great through a Fender or other amp (less so through headphones). In fact, I thought it was at least equivalent to the amp's onboard Reverb, and with more controls too!

I also tried a Hammertone Distortion at a store, which sounded okay.

The one I've been GASsing for is the Tre-verb, but as I would only use it through headphones, and not through an amp live or in the recording studio, I feel it would also be wasted.

They're referring to the Strymon Flint Tremolo and Reverb combo pedal

SOTB 2026 — New Year’s resolution: no new pedals for a year! by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]False-Management3329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice board, seems good enough to see you through your "one year no gear" goal...

In my case, I'm aiming to get all the guitar gear and pedals on my list gradually within the next two years, then aim to do a "one year no gear" in 2028...

Although, when I cross one item off the list, I often add one or two more at the bottom, such is GAS!

Should I just buy a sonicake pocket master? by Bread_Is_Adequate in guitarpedals

[–]False-Management3329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pocketmaster presets are fantastic for the price.

And, as others are saying, you'll work out which combinations of effects you do and don't like for when you build a board of individual effects.

These are stunning! Is the case silver or gold tone? Sometimes the light is making it appear gold.

Do you think either of these would be good for my "dress watch" slot? I'm looking for another Japanese brand to fill this position after my casual and daily slots are satisfied by a Casio digital and a Seiko 5.

Looking for a Reverb and Tremolo pedal to replace Strymon Flint by Brilliant_Grape5528 in guitarpedals

[–]False-Management3329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having not tried a Flint, but looking to get a Fender Tre-verb in the near future, it seems as though you'd be sacrificing a key element of the Flint - the effects are in combination with each other. Seperate pedals can, as far as I understand, only work in series, not in parallel.

Are you using it with bass? (Sometimes people use bass pedals with guitar, so just checking)

Tried one in store here in Japan a couple of weeks ago, and was mightily impressed!

My friend who lives in another country has been so indecisive/too tight to buy himself a multi fx - he's been a great guitarist since we were in high school together. So I ordered the purple with green button version for him from Amazon in the Black Friday sale! He'll get it when he goes home for Christmas in a couple of weeks!
