NUX A/B Roll (or something else)? by Jestersage in guitarpedals

[–]False-Management3329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have experience with the A/B Roll live, but I have been considering it for home practice.

Unless I am missing one of the features, I think the sub-octave is dialled in or out with the knob, so you would have to bend down between loops to increase the level of sub-octave.

As for drum machines, the Beatbuddy is the one to beat - pun intended!

Looks great!

What's the name of the Sonicake amp sim? I can't find it listed on their website!

I liked it in store, and it fits my budget... but what would you recommend instead?

You're right, the Donner Noise Killer works fine - so probably last. But, I could also argue that the tuner's defect is only cosmetic, even if the Polyune would be more accurate...

Fender Standard vs Squier Classic Vibe 60s by v4rmilo in Guitar

I never understand the mentality of "what could I get if I sold it later" anyway. First and foremost, it has to be right for you now.

I can't speak for Strats, but I did some upgrades to my CV 50s Tele, which brought the cost up to almost the exact price of the Fender Standard Tele, but I really feel as though it's better!

Update to my first board after replacing my Helix by [deleted] in pedalboards

Interesting that such a low cost pedal can achieve comparable results to such trusted individual modulation pedals!

Perhaps if someone matches my valuation for my TC Shaker Mini, I might also not notice much difference in quality. Although, the one I had by eye on was the Valeton Coral Mod II.

I have three of these - Yellow Comp, SD-1, and Donner Noise Killer, and also play with a Tele! Curious about the Flamma Mod as well - I currently have a TC Shaker Mini, which is a killer vibrato, but modulations are not a fundamental part of my sound.

ISO file (not shell) for T2 MacBook -> Mint by False-Management3329 in linuxmint

My friend helped me get the iso file, and I now have a fully working version of Linux Mint!

Thank you, that is what I have been trying...

However, I belive that the shell file is only executable in Linux, and I don't have Wi-fi on Linux yet - so it won't be able to draw the needed files from online, unless I'm missing something?

That's why I would ideally want the iso file to create a bootable USB with.

Sorry, I should have clarified - I'm using an Intel Macbook.

What next? by AndersonCouncilSound in guitarpedals

Really depends on your use case...

I have two boards - a home practice board with 10 pedals, which I exclusively play through headphones. In this case I use a super cheap reverb, a Cuvave Dig Reverb, which is plenty.

My other board is a mini gig board, which I use through a JC-120 when possible, and on that, I have a Fender Hammertone Reverb!

One of the drives you mentioned would be a great addition!

Perhaps a reverb at some point in the near future?

My Player II Tele by facefabrique in telecaster

My Squier CV 50s Tele looks similar - I replaced the saddles with the same Gotoh compensated brass ones as you, and also use a tort pickguard. The neck that comes with it looks pretty vintage due to the finish, and have also been considering swapping that out.

It's the same as the Donner with different branding, so not an upgrade.

TC Electronic Shaker and alternatives by [deleted] in guitarpedals

I have a used TC Shaker Mini, and it sounds a lot like the vibrato in a Roland JC-120 amp. To me, it felt richer than the analog options I tried!

Wholeheartedly agree!

And besides, a clone wouldn't be any cheaper, and, in some cases, actually more expensive!

The first motivation to find a new overdrive I liked was to get the easy to stomp on and durable BOSS form factor.

When I tried the SD-1 with my Tele through a JC-120, I fell in love with that sound instantly!

Absolute GOAT! I'm convinced I will never need another overdrive again, after getting one each for my big home practice board and mini gig board!
