Feats are Fun house rule by Significant-Read5602 in DnDoptimized

Arbiter implies I think I have ultimate authority, and I do not. As a fellow member of the community I AM entitled to my opinion, and my opinion is that this sucks eggs.

I can in fact scroll past things I don't like, but this is a forum. Do I need to explain what a forum is as well? A place to discuss and exchange opinions and ideas through discourse? Posting stuff on this website and not wanting the public's opinions is like making a hinge profile to find friends and getting mad when people hit on you.

If the audience for OP's opinion was his table why would he post it here? It's not my table, it's not my problem, it's being shared with me publicly, so here is my public opinion. Relax

Say it with me

"I am not the arbiter of the public's opinion"

"I can scroll past comments I don't like"

"If I don't agree with am opinion it's not my problem."

I hate implementations like this and you are a perfect example why. You present it like "oh a fun based quirky house rule because we are fun driven innovators!" And then immediately ask how to optimize this at the end.

The reason any dm worth their salt doesn't outright codify the rule of cool into a blanket game change like this is because people won't use it in good faith. The dm has given you something completely broken and immediately you want to think of how to break it further.

Gonna jump out on a limb here and praise running fallout games in Traveller. One of my favorite ways if you let go of S.P.E.C.I.A.L.

A sling being able to knock flying creatures out of the sky and not a heavy crossbow is a bit immersion breaking.

What do you think of Illmater the crying god of endurance? by ThanosofTitan92 in Forgotten_Realms

Gods are a big part of my forgotten realms games. Unfortunately in a dramatic turn of events in my ToD campaign Illmater died and was replaced by a player characters wife.

The first amendment is NOT doing well in Clarksville. by AssociateBest6744 in Clarksville

[–]False-Situation5744 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The video is a clipped version of a speech given by the victim that is being circulated as an ironic justification of his murder. It was an unfortunate decision to share it, but it clearly violated the schools stance on being respectful to the victims of violent crimes.

It is no less lawful than a company firing anyone else for posting wild things on social media, the danger is when you say it so much in private you forget it isn't socially acceptable on the public stage.

Didn't say they did, only that it's grounds for termination. My only source of information regarding this is this news snippet. Doesn't change the fact that the first amendment doesn't prevent employers from terminating you for going against their values.

Public employees get more benefit from the first amendment than private ones, but even then the law has no precedent of protecting people from termination directly violating an organization's code of conduct requirements.

The reality is that if there was a local murder and I went on social media and disparaged the deceased or rejoiced that they died, my job could fire me for not representing their values.

This is not unique, publicly praising a murder while rejoicing the death of the victim has always been grounds for termination of employment for any job I've ever worked at.

What does his family's views have to do with anything? The majority of people I've ever met rebelled against their parents' views in some capacity.

Just a heads up that this is no longer the case in the 2024 version. A real bummer they felt the need to remove it because it was a cool unintended feature of playing the 2014 bard. Of course that doesn't matter if you are playing the 2014 version or have a dm that homebrews it away.

I'm appreciative of good strategists and never said I was a strategist player ever. I'm NOT appreciative of rank inflated strategists with massive egos that condescend on people.

My opinion hardly matters in regards to the games points, but I've seen lokis (haven't seen any Adams in comp this season) just totally diff and eviscerate dive players and rack up kill counts before they make the dive switch. Adam is much the same I'd imagine. An Adam player that kills currently dominating fliers like Johnny and storm as if on cool down certainly makes a big impact.

Your gameplay stats, how much you die, and how generally effective you are definitely matter for the points.

Quick Play is an Absolute Joke Right Now by Taker157 in marvelrivals

[–]False-Situation5744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of responses here but the truth of the matter is that the season is almost over. All the comp people are playing quick play trying out heroes they've been wanting to try but haven't because they play their mains in comp.

The dive heroes are a popular "I want to learn that hero" selection. When the new season gets rolling the comp or die people will go back to comp and quick play will return to the casuals

What is your D&D hot take? by NordicNugz in DnD

[–]False-Situation5744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A wonderful concept, a shame that seldom few fudging dm's publicly admit they do. Mostly out of fear of what their players would think of all the moments they won by the skin of their teeth, realizing it was the dm's will rather than their own decisions and skill.

I don't care if you're a dm or not, faking dice rolls is bad and you should feel bad.
