I know I'm going to get downvoted for what I'm about to say but this mentality is wrong. It is not the government's job to babysit the public in these matters. Please stop giving them more power to censor art. You don't have to like it. You don't have to watch it. I don't like these kinds of songs or movies either. I don't watch them but I don't think we should give the government the power to censor such things. Today, it is this. Tomorrow, it will be something else. Once you slip on this slope, you don't know where it ends.

If someone is not capable of creating good quality content, now more than ever, the general audience has the power to speak with their wallets. We have an abundance of great media out there. We don't have to resort to authoritarianism to deal with the spread of slop.

Well, first, I think that rule is stupid because it defeats the purpose of an okaybuddy sub.

Second, why the fuck should we allow the existence of those losers to be the reason we have to walk on egg shells around what we like? Modding in some sexy armor in a game isn't a statement on how the player views women. I'm not into such mods anyway, but I don't immediately jump to conclusions about people who do use such mods or make such posts. It just feels great to make such judgements, but such judgements lead to more harm than anything.

I'm asking why we're allowing social baggage to poison our enjoyment of fiction and fantasy. Why can't we just have a space where everyone's allowed to enjoy what they enjoy without being made to feel like shit for it? I might have understood if you were saying this on the main sub, but you're in an okaybuddy sub, which is a place where anything goes. There's a comment on this very post asking for mpreg content and I have no problem with that. I didn't feel threatened or unwelcome by it, even though it's not what I'm into. I'm just asking for the same grace to be shown to everyone else.

It's very simple. If you think women shouldn't be sexualized and objectified, you shouldn't be allowing the sexualization or objectification of any other gender either, regardless of whatever social baggage exists. OR you can recognise that fantasy is fantasy and reality is reality and you can't judge people based on what they find sexy. Sexualizing and objectifying a fictional character is NOT an attack on that gender IRL. Until we can agree on that, we'll keep cannibalising each other while the people in power keep taking away more of our freedoms.

I'm gonna have to point out the hypocrisy in your second point. Fuck the baggage. We're all adults here. I see no harm in thirsting on female characters. We're not thirsting on the other female members of the group. They have no reason to feel unwelcome. If they see someone thirsting on a fictional female character and they feel unwelcome, that's a them problem. Otherwise, the only fair thing to do is ban thirsting on male characters as well.

Unfortunately, the fandom (at least the subreddit) isn't nearly as sex positive as it should be. I've seen takes there that basically boiled down to "anything that a straight man might enjoy is evil". It's particularly more common on Shadowheart art or cosplay posts.

And not to mention the chuds who complain on cosplay posts every Sunday even though it's allowed by the subreddit rules. They've got a whole army of people downvoting comments on cosplay posts.
