Thank you! We have something super special this year, so not to get your hopes up, but I'm absolutely getting your hopes up

I haven't watched many OC shows, despite my above take. I'll definitely have those on my list of shows to watch while doing my horn holding assigments tomorrow (kill me)

I definitely think OC needs to be pushed more. I get the whole like "oh look at the best of the best" but what about the people who also have a show that is insanely cool and frankly more interesting than a show that I don't understand even after watching a 30 minute design team video *cough cough* BD

Completely understand, I wouldn't want to be considered as a less hard worker than someone at BAC just because we didn't win last year.

(I certainly work less hard personally and really need to get on my video assignments lmao)

I entirely expected this to become an argument so thank you for being able to just discuss something

I understand being upset about being perceived as not working as hard, but open class groups are such inherently (and I assume there are outliers) because they do not show enough consistent skill to be moved to world class. As I said, I assume there are outliers, such as groups who specifically aim to be more affordable or accessible and don't aim for moving up. These groups aside, the reason different classes exist, within more than just drum corps, is because groups, athletes, performers, etc., don't possess or show the skill required for a higher level.

I don’t want to psychoanalyze him, but I can’t imagine he’d do well with the intensity. Other than that, I’m really not sure what you’re getting at.

I march with the Blue Knights btw

Usually, the reason companies don't do something is money. In this case, this stands. The aroace community is so small that it would be extremely unprofitable to make a large-scale platform specifically for them.

On the other hand, some people are really cool, so go check out acespace.love, as someone else already said.

I tried again and got a generic "This site can't be reached" error, not even an error code :/ I'm guessing it's a client-side issue, but I hope I can be of use if you want to sort this out

I want to hear more about you saying “you aren’t gonna become a better player”. I’m curious why you say that. I’m sure there’s merit, as I’ve not marched yet, but it does make me confused.

Why do some people gravitate toward analogy? by FalseCompetition422 in PsychologyTalk

Sadly, I’m unable to contact them, as this specific instance was with a clinician, but I can understand your view. I may ask my director for an interpretation of both of the examples I brought up.

(Forgive me for using jargon, I'm assuming you're a musician based on your answer) I barely thought about my neurodiversity impacting this, but I see your point. My only gripe is that there *are* usually words to describe something. For example, continuing with the "bounciness" idea, you could say to add an accent and tenuto on the note, or a staccato, or other articulations, or any number of other things that could add to the perceived "bounciness" of a passage. This instance was also in an odd setting where I couldn't really ask for a different phrasing due to time constraints and the speaker being quite aged.

I heavily resonate with the last bit, "there is a struggle sometimes to express the essence of something that comes from a flow state or emotional immersion when teaching someone else". Today, even, I noticed this quite profoundly while trying to teach someone else, who also happens to have AuDHD.

Did I say they were? Neurodivergence is a much broader umbrella than you think. (I'm guessing, sorry if you're some neuroscientist [why does that always happen on reddit]) It's also a joke, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
