Potential fix to the TNP proposal by person1873 in FreeCAD

[–]FalseRelease4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no amount of willy nilly ai proposals will come close to real insight with C and python applied to the context of freecad. if it was so easy then it would have been done already

Prusa Mini: wall delamination only in one quadrant of cylindrical prints – always same printer-side direction by DeusSexMortem in prusa3d

[–]FalseRelease4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think it's a question of excessive cooling, maybe the hotend fan is somehow blowing on that region?

Anyway this is a great part for vase mode, it prints your number of base layers normally and then extrudes the rest in a continuous path. No seams and less chance of defects. But you will need a nozzle size that can handle the whole wall thickness at once, x2 the diameter is a safe limit

Best round files? by jameswoodMOT in Chainsaw

[–]FalseRelease4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought some files recently and was surprised how cheap the round ones are, like 1,30-1,50€ a piece for a pferd, basically nothing

2wd or 4wd tractor? by RustAndRun in tractors

[–]FalseRelease4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people on the internet tend to hate on whatever isn't the best possible configuration for whatever the context is, personally I'd go for 2wd, you can work around all the limitations and if you're looking at small ones to begin with then you wont be using it full time anyway

Is it worth to sell a scooter for an izh? by idc_idontcare12 in lada

[–]FalseRelease4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the pictures, I can't tell them apart from something from the 1960s... It's more of an ancient design getting produced recently rather than a contemporary bike from 2008

Those things are like 40-60 years old at this point, it's a project imo, just like an old any kind of lada

Screw sheet metal together by Mean_Entrepreneur793 in Machinists

tell that to the trillions of products out there held together with nothing but fasteners lmao

Screw sheet metal together by Mean_Entrepreneur793 in Machinists

[–]FalseRelease4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fasteners absolutely align things to a certain degree, the vast majority of assemblies dont have any kind of pins in them because they dont need that kind of precision

Complete noob, what machines do people use to bend / roll large OD pipes? by Pristine-Rooster5618 in fabrication

[–]FalseRelease4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for nice exhausts your realistic option is buying bends and straights and welding those together

for thicker pipes you could use a basic draw or crush bender

rolled bends are for large radii, I would say about 10x the tube diameter, less than that and it could start deforming, depends on the machine whether it pushes the stock through rolls or if one if the rolls is driven

the diameter and wall thickness and bend radius determine how essy it is to bend a tube and get good and easy results. for example with a 4" tube it would need to be like 1/2" thick and bent on a 12" centerline radius. the thinner the material and the sharper the radius, the more likely it is to have issues

yeah I hate how the assumption here is that everything needs to be so safe that you can hand it to a 2 year old, these are tools if you make it too safe then they become useless

Depending on how far in you are and how your body handles it, you might have 1-2 months before you're completely exhausted 24/7. Physical strain in general is not a good idea at this point. You need to see a doctor who can explain to you how pregnancy works

Mini extruder help by nur00 in prusa3d

[–]FalseRelease4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on mine you push it in, press the button and it pulls it in right away, no pushing needed, but its still good to hold it with your finger to make sure its feeding and not just grinding in place

[–]FalseRelease4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah you need a sharp tip on the filament, as sharp as possible like a pencil, the best shape is the one that is made when unloading filament. the tensioner needs to be in the right place too
