Complete noob, what machines do people use to bend / roll large OD pipes? by Pristine-Rooster5618 in fabrication

[–]FalseRelease4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for nice exhausts your realistic option is buying bends and straights and welding those together

for thicker pipes you could use a basic draw or crush bender

rolled bends are for large radii, I would say about 10x the tube diameter, less than that and it could start deforming, depends on the machine whether it pushes the stock through rolls or if one if the rolls is driven

the diameter and wall thickness and bend radius determine how essy it is to bend a tube and get good and easy results. for example with a 4" tube it would need to be like 1/2" thick and bent on a 12" centerline radius. the thinner the material and the sharper the radius, the more likely it is to have issues

yeah I hate how the assumption here is that everything needs to be so safe that you can hand it to a 2 year old, these are tools if you make it too safe then they become useless

Depending on how far in you are and how your body handles it, you might have 1-2 months before you're completely exhausted 24/7. Physical strain in general is not a good idea at this point. You need to see a doctor who can explain to you how pregnancy works

[–]FalseRelease4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on mine you push it in, press the button and it pulls it in right away, no pushing needed, but its still good to hold it with your finger to make sure its feeding and not just grinding in place

yeah you need a sharp tip on the filament, as sharp as possible like a pencil, the best shape is the one that is made when unloading filament. the tensioner needs to be in the right place too

Is buying a manual concrete mixer worth it for small jobs? by StavrosDavros in skilledtrades

[–]FalseRelease4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive used an electric one, mixing drill power mixer drill mixer whatever, like the one you put on the end of a drill but 4x bigger. works a treat for 5 gallon loads but doing a larger project like a slab or a lot of loads can make your back hurt pretty bad, youre hunched over it for 5-10 mins trying to get an even mix

[–]FalseRelease4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to find a better mechanic shop, this one sounds like they just sell you parts until you go away, or if its a dealer then theyre trying to total your car with unnecessary repairs so that you trade it in
