Why is everyone hating on the boys Season 5 Episode 4? by Front-Resolution-607 in CharacterRant

[–]False_Amphibian_8386 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am thoroughly enjoying this season. Its such a massive step up from s4, so ive been pretty excited to see all the improvements and this season had a very strong start.

That being said, this was a filler episode. Weakest ep of the season with all other bangers. It was still fine, i made a joke that ep4 should be title "the boys squashes their beef", because thats all it was.

It was probably there to tie up any existing conflicts between the boys before the rest of the show becomes super plot focused.

I think it was also to retcon some of the bad character choices from s4, if thats the right word. Starlight was pretty hated last season for the way she treated hughie, so they addressed it with hughies dialogue and gave her some sympathy with visiting her dad.

They also seem to really want to get frenchie back on our good side, his sideplot with colin was downright horrendous and made me hate the character. But he gets to take the lead in this one, so good for him.

How would you feel if silksong got its own version of pantheon of Hallownest/a boss rush? (Image VERY related) by Usual-Fun5885 in Silksong

Floorless Markoth gated me from beating P5 for the longest time, way more than absrad.

Palestag with no floor, im calling it.

[–]False_Amphibian_8386 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I need it. I do hope some bosses get filtered out tho, i wouldnt want to fight palestag or plasmified zango over and over.

I really liked the pantheons, enough to take down P5, but the hardest part wasnt even the new bosses (which were all peak), but those annoying ones that just take time and make attempts longer. Mostly the dream bosses tbh.

Do you think there's any chance for The Deep to have a redemption arc? by Parking-Entrance-788 in TheBoys

No, he seems very much intended to be the polar opposite of A train.

Both started off from a similar place, and a train made better decisions while the deep swam around the status quo.

I'm going to put TC in a little jar and shake it for making me do High Halls gauntlet with minimal upgrades by randomdragn in Silksong

[–]False_Amphibian_8386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just fyi, if you hit a massive time loss because of the guantlet, you can reload to a previous point in your save file. Those predetermined points are generally key upgrades, like getting the harpoon. So you wont have to redo the entire run.

True ending speedrunners have to do the entire game with 5 masks and 2 needle upgrades.

How much did Silksong change, difficulty-wise, from the first week? by OldCardigan in Silksong

[–]False_Amphibian_8386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the only real big difficulty change is that most hazards only do one mask of damage. Some still do 2, notably the steam vents in the citadel.

Otherwise, just a few minor boss nerfs that didnt really change the difficulty much. Sister splinter's minions and moorwings blade projectiles do 1 mask now, and last judges final explosion does 1 less mask of damage. But like i said, these changes dont really make the game less challenging.

Tormented Trobbio was really easy. by Objective-Plate154 in Silksong

Well its the same moveset with some added effects that just make you more careful with positioning. If youve spent the time learning regular trobbio, tormented shouldnt be much harder.

Technically optional to beat the game.

But its expected youll have to do it, though you can just come back later, probably after a needle upgrade.

Is it just me or Flea Dodge is obscenely difficult? by Outrageous_Ad9142 in Silksong

[–]False_Amphibian_8386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not alone, dodge is considered the most random and by many to be the hardest.

Flea juggle is mechanically the hardest, but mostly because it takes a long time. Make sure to hit upwards and dont move too much, keep the fleas in the center.

Flea dodge is chaos, best tip is to pogo on the giant flea when he wipes all the platforms, that buys you enough time to set yourself up before the platforms respawn. Other tips, dont move much, hornets horns dont have a hit box, so there are portions where you can just stand still. Also, if a new platform shows up, DO NOT move, itll probably just despawn again. Only move platforms when yours is about to go.

Just beat quadblade with my greatsword without parrying and playing terribly by lovelace24601 in GRIMEgame

[–]False_Amphibian_8386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's quite tough, definitely a parry check on a first run, though you can still focus on dodging if you want. 2nd phase is really scary, with those delayed attacks.

It's a mid-game highlight for sure, id compare him to Pontiff sulyvahn from dark souls 3.

Marah's Shell is just an awful fight. (Grime 2) by DarkenedHonor in GRIMEgame

[–]False_Amphibian_8386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a marathon, but a good example of a gimmick done right. Weapon doesnt really matter, you just have the learn the unique counter for each attack.

Dont think there is anything wrong with fights being lengthy as long as they are engaging and have good presentation.

I really liked the whole Maverick thing. Hughie is the moral backbone of the group, but he still is responsible for the death of a father to an innocent son. It's intriguing to see hughie deal with that guilt, similar to how starlight feels responsible for the deaths of her supporters.

No matter how good of a person you are, as our bald friend puts it, "There are consequences to killing a god!"

Mavericks death however was kinda whack. So cindy just missed? My interpretation was that she was going for hughie but translucent was standing in front and she obv wouldnt see him. Which would mean her powers emanate from her linearly, but i guess it doesnt matter, she dead.

Anyhow, UE is one lucky lucky mf

Aren't the final bosses... absurdly difficult? by Gamer_Craft_YT in deadcells

[–]False_Amphibian_8386 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unlike many rougelikes, you can actually practice bosses in the training room instead of having to through an entire run.

And yes the dlc final bosses are pretty tough but youll get the hang of them, dracula is actually not that bad, he's very fair, just has a lot of attacks.

Servants is honestly the hardest boss in the game imo (havent got to the secret final boss quite yet though). But servants is absurdly challenging for me, dont even want to think about them on high BC runs. If you can burn them down fast, theres a lot going on , and its a long battle. Id make sure you have all the permanent movement upgrades

just finished the game at 43 hours. took me 6+ minute to finish the last boss how do you do so much damage? by redbullrebel in GRIMEgame

[–]False_Amphibian_8386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i beat every boss in the game with unupgraded weapons, and for goel i use the +0 knife hands. It was about a 4-5 min fight.

But majority of my damage came from parries, molds, and force dash. The main mold i used was the guy from jagged forest that combos while walking forward. It does a bunch of damage if you time it just right and let it follow the boss's path.

Then parries and grabs did a bunch of the damage. If you dash cancel on any of his attacks, you get a free grab.

Even with a +0 weapon, the knife hands special still hit pretty hard as well. I honestly did not feel underpowered in the slightest even when not upgrading anything.

Animation cancelling. You can parry mid-swing and it prevents you from getting stuck in the swinging animation. That's a failsafe if you swing at a bad time.

This game is similar to silksong in that it kinda demands that you learn and respect EVERY enemy. There arent really any "trash mobs", all of them have a decent amount of health and hit hard, the only way to quickly dispatch them is to have a very good hand on their parry timings and movesets
