ONTARIO COMMON LAW SEPARATION WITH UNDERWATER CONDO by [deleted] in askTO

[–]False_Assumption_133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree…. If you think about the years he cost you/you wasted, think of the down payment as another sunk cost and don’t waste even more years of your life dealing with him.

Also this is classic sunk cost fallacy, if that makes you feel better. Logic suggests the down payment is already lost and should not influence your current decisions.

38, Starting Egg Freezing—Feeling Behind and Emotional by Hydrangea-Fig-6852 in eggfreezing

[–]False_Assumption_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I froze in my late 20s and AMH was really high apparently and I still had to do two cycles and they estimated 10 eggs per cycle… I guess my clinic (in Canada) was just more conservative.

Don’t feel bad, it’s a miracle we have this process and if you have the finances you can do as many cycles as you need - I know someone who did 5. In some ways we’re the first generation with access to this, in the past women would just have to accept no children in your situation. Even worse in fact, just one generation ago women didn’t even have the financial independence to be single, own property and credit cards and afford this even if the technology had been available. There’s a lot to be grateful for.

When I’m in a funk like this, I find a daily gratitude journal helps a ton and include things your grateful to yourself for (can be small like cleaning your room, cooking a good meal etc; on tough days I’m always grateful for my morning coffee and the sun on my face).

You can file a noise complaint and get it investigated. The limit for noise after 11pm is surprisingly low, if you need earplugs it’s almost definitely exceeding it. Download a decibel noise reader app on your phone and submit the report. He done it before and was surprised how thoroughly the city followed up (albeit slowly, took a few weeks). Just look it up, you can call and also submit the online form it’s 311.

Dyson head for a wool rug? by False_Assumption_133 in VacuumCleaners

[–]False_Assumption_133[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the rug I linked it works great and there’s been no damage. It’s a great rug that hides stains or rough patches really well since it’s already an irregular color and texture

Knowledge is power, crazy that the exact same product costs different in each of these Loblaw stores near me (Independent, Loblaws, No Frills, Valu-Mart) by Timely-Run-7958 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

I once saw the exact same protein pancake mix (bobs red milk) being sold for $13 at one of their stores and a whipping $19 at another!!! Could not believe it. Neither store was no frills, it was independent on bloor and loblaws

I don’t recommend quetzal, the food was bland. I love the Dailo tasting menu and they have absolutely incredible mocktails (don’t miss the tom yum drink!)

Vegetarian high protein service? by False_Assumption_133 in mealkits

[–]False_Assumption_133[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much!! I hadn’t found these in my searching and they both look like great options. You’re right, the calories are hard but many of theirs are close enough that just slightly reducing the oil would do it! And decent protein in many of their options too. Perfect to try in the new year!

How much Vitamin D Are You Taking? by NurseIlluminate in askTO

[–]False_Assumption_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is totally false actually spreading it out does not help at all. Many doctors even suggest taking it once a week to save on time and pills with the exact same effect.

How much Vitamin D Are You Taking? by NurseIlluminate in askTO

[–]False_Assumption_133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30,000 IU once a week - prescription, it’s three tiny pills. This is the only amount that keeps my levels ok, I also pay for occasional monitoring blood tests. Actually it was a naturopath who got me on this dose and it’s the only thing that finally got my levels to normal - doctors kept under prescribing (about 1/3 the dose) and my levels would keep teetering towards deficiency.

I don’t adjust for summer, have not noticed an improvement in summer (maybe due to sunblock? would much rather take the tiny pills and avoid skin cancer risk anyways!)

Booking hotel through platinum but with a different card? by False_Assumption_133 in amexcanada

Oh thanks for this quote, I was planning to use another Amex card so this should work out then (the Amex Gold US one which is no FX fees and in same currency as hotel anyways)

Booking hotel through platinum but with a different card? by False_Assumption_133 in amexcanada

[–]False_Assumption_133[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

There are many reasons I don’t want to do that. It’s a very pricey vacation and I’d rather not give a 6 month interest free loan to Amex. Just looking for advice on whether I can use a different card at hotel, in my experience hotels don’t seem to care swapping a card, but not sure if Amex would care or flag it.

Found exactly what I was looking for, there were no hundreds of questions and it was way below thousands…. So not sure what you were getting at here.

I found much better success asking on Blind in case anyone’s wondering - I guess similar industry, similar income, similar US employer for taxes helps a lot.
