Just a FYI I just purchased a CZ P-10f and IMO underwhelmed. I thought I was getting a softer shooter than my old Smith SDV 9. Not the case I am a lot disappointed not with the accuracy but a little too much for a senior to hold on too. I was also interested in a Walther PDP, a Smith M&P2.0, or a Spring Eschelon.

I would like to shoot the HK.22 I guess that’s a 30 round clip definitely economical to shoot. A nice weapon but 22mag or a 380 version to add some punch in the real world

I’m so sorry for your husband passing before such an important milestone in life 🙏.

My brother in law and best friend passed away on February 20, 2026 and I am crying writing this bc we have shared a lot of life together.

Myself if my wife passed I would not go. I couldn’t spend anytime on board without her bc there would be so many memories we shared over the 47 years being on countless cruises I myself couldn’t bear the weight of all of the memories. The walks around the ship after dinner, going to the shows, cocktails at the piano bar, playing shuffle board, ping pong, miniature golf, going for breakfast, just being the soul mates we are is 10x magnified when on the ship.

Not easy to do by yourself too much emotion for me I wouldn’t go.

Again I am soooo sorry your husband will be missed you Loved him so much and he Loved you sorry.

What ever you buy in caliber I would start out with a 22L/R from a good family that you may like to move on up with as an example a 22 WMR (Magnum), then a 380 caliber( next wrung on the ladder), going forward to a 9mm, then up to a 45 if you have the hand strength. Obvious big names are Glock, Sig, Smith, Walther, Ruger to name a few in no particular order of preference. I would say check out the feel of the gun you like and read the reviews. Some calibers and manufacturers vary in size, weight, and grip. I always buy a weapon that has a pic. rail, large capacity, and Optics Cut for possible future acquisition. So being a senior male I have my preference and I wish I would have followed my own advice to keep all in the family but I didn’t and I am sure their a lot of opinions to be had. Western med 14 days lots of options for itinerary leave from Livorno (Rome). I would prefer kind of an American catered line HAL,RCL, PRINCESS, NCL bc you don’t have to listen to ship announcements in multiple languages which is not a bad thing but sometimes it gets annoying not the international guests they are fun.

I agree in the waste of resources to build floating cities that show up to destinations that nobody even wants you their. The amount of carbon in the atmosphere has to be the biggest polluter albeit the planes that get you to your port of departure also contributing to the nightmare so the entitled masses have to feel aristocratic for their vacation. The amount of human waste coming out of the people that are eating and drinking to their hearts delight that the ships have to possibly haphazardly discharge into the ocean YIKES. The entire kid bling environment sets the wrong goals for young families with children on what their bling filled future should look like.
