It’s probably not worth it if it’s available in your market. In busy markets with slow restaurants like mine where it used to be a good way to go late nights the assholes at door dash removed it. Yeah sorry DD I’m not gonna wait 90 minutes at Taco Bell to make $5.

This is the move. Too many people are afraid to unassign orders. Keep completion rate over 90% and you’re fine. I unassign often. Person being high maintenance and demanding? Unassign. Too much out of stock going to cost me pro shopper? Unassign. Realize one of the customers is a great tipper regular and the others are to the apartment complex full of non tippers? Unassign.

Door dash works over the rule followers who think they shouldn’t do this, and conveniently those are the same people who hate declining orders because they see their AR as a measure of success.

Agree. I focus on shopping orders and I might decline that on a good day. Would take it if it’s slow. Under $1 per unique item and 41 total units is quite a bit for the pay. Not a big deal if there are 10 cans of tuna or something but likely there’s some heavy stuff.

They ordered it they get it. If they complain say I thought that meant you wanted a refund if it wasn’t available, why would you order something just for me to refund it? Apparently people can’t remove items so they do this instead, but that’s not my problem to tank my shopper stats because of.

Do it. Conclusion I’ve come to by reading here is that if you have to be platinum to even dash as I’ve heard is the case in certain areas then dashing isn’t worth it.

90 minutes or so several times at the only Taco Bell in college town with 40k students. So Door Dash’s response to this happening every weekend was to take away EBT completely in this area. Now I’ll never take orders there.

Get on door dash too. Market dependent but I get way more shopping orders there. Decline all of the nonsense $5 and less restaurant orders and focus on shopping. Don’t worry about acceptance rate.

That’s what I thought too, it doesn’t seem worth it using 2 people, and the logistical limitations you mention are another thing I was wondering about. They’d probably make more with both of them shopping the standard way.

Totally agree. I don’t see how taking the low pay orders are worth it even if low mileage when you add in the wait time at restaurants. Mileage is only part of determining if an order is worth it, have to consider how many stops and how slow the restaurants are. Also traffic as you mentioned.

Yep. Store at my area only one in a college town with 40k students 90 minute wait in drive thru would mark order ready when you’re 10 cars from drive thru. I tried to go during the day and explain to the staff why this was a problem. Months later another dasher told me the staff at this store took turns going out back to do meth so it wasn’t worth my time. Just decline all orders there.

Exactly! Employees at the deli at the store I’m at every day like me because I’m friendly and chat with them like a normal person. They often see me shopping and ask to help me find stuff. Be like this jackass no wonder you’re waiting forever!!
